I'm really thankful that my dean is an old school, West Texas conservative. She is an absolute dream to work under, and doesn't subscribe to the feelings bullshite so rampant in academia. She's set a hardline that if it ever becomes official policy to list preferred pronouns in an email signature, she's retiring that very day.

You're actually correct in a lot of cases. I'm not worried about my wife naturally ... but she has told me many times that there is a lot of extra marital crap that goes on at these big seminars and she has a few friends with other companies that always hook up on these trips out west.
She shared a couple more stories with me about someone I know who is one of the regular offenders. Problem is I also know her husband and I wish I could tell him ... but I dare not. It's just not my place. But you're right. It's epidemic in the field. And there are some smoke shows working in the field these days.
My wife just turned 50 and still looks good for her age, much younger than I. But when she was younger and my buddies would joke about wanting to hit that I'd always tell them, "if you can afford her and she wants to go then you can have her."
You're not lying though. It's bad at these HR seminars when it comes to screwing around.

I hate to say it, but it's true. Some of my best salespeople have been women, in fact on average, my female salespeople outperformed their male counterparts regularly.
But the drama and the bullshite is simply not worth it 99% of the time.

Also, ever work in an office full of women? Women are more vile and conniving than men. Get too much estrogen in a room and the workplace is horrible. I've seen it happen as I watched another department full of alpha females tear each other apart. Sometimes its passive aggressive...sometimes it's a damn bloodbath.
