re: So does Israel have any plans to end this without turning Gaza into a parking lot?

War is hell. It's always the innocents that end up paying for the decisions of the elite.
The moment Hamas hid within the Palestinian population, after they committed that attack.. it was clear that a very pissed off Israel was going to use any means necessary to root them all out. Even at the expense of innocents. Never piss a country off. They are war machines.

When Israel said this would never happen again it was plain to most the only outcome.
One thing seldom covered is that thousands of Palestinians live and work in Israel.
But another seldom mentioned item is the fact that the Arab world doesn't want the Gazans either.

Sincere question: are you under eh impression that the IDF treated Palestinians with any sort of respect or fairness prior to the attack? Are you not aware of the many checkpoints Palestinians have had to pass through while simply going to the grocery or work? Are you not aware that Israel has roads that Palestinians are not allowed to use? Did you know the IDF has been rationing the utilities of Palestinians for years?
You seem to think Israel was peacefully coexisting with Arabs befor the attacks.

And nearly all of them denied Israeli citizenship and passports.

Nearly all of them are alive and prosperous.

Nope, other than hot words.

They either capitulate completely and all Hamas are dead or in custody, or they can die. What's so difficult to grasp here? Unconditional Surrender. Period.
The situation bears a lot of similarities to Japan in WW2. They could not win, but they also would not stop fighting. The Allies called for "unconditional surrender" and Japan refused, trying to negotiate better terms for their surrender. So they got the "prompt and utter destruction" they were promised and hundreds of thousands of civilians were killed.
Japanese military leaders were still trying to weasel their way out of a very bad spot, and the US was loading up more atomic bombs. Finally the emperor surrendered and Japan was occupied. War is hell but look how nice and prosperous the Japanese people are today. The world doesn't like to admit it but sometimes brute force and the certainty of total annihilation are the only things that will stop a long drawn out war. Israel is no angel, but if one of them has to emerge the total victor, I'm picking Israel over Hamas.

A parking lot isn’t going to come attack you on a Saturday morning and torture/rape/kill ……so there is that upside

Most societies are built on fables.
These people need to break their suspension of belief and realize what's happening before they themselves die too.
I get the desire to reclaim some kind of pride but yall fricked up biblically. The fact that you may live is an indication that there's a path to survival. But yall need to be going to the front of the line taking out Hamas and at least denouncing them. If you cannot do that then you're obsolete. On your way out. And rightfully so.

Ukraine is getting a lesson in this as well now. Going to be hard.

The USA only had enough for 2 bombs. It was a bluff they had more.
However I do agree with your post. Some people just need to be utterly crushed before they give up and change.

I'm good with the parking lot thing.

Real Answer is no. As soon as war is over Netanyahu is gone and probably going to jail for some shite completely unrelated to this. So he is never ending it,

Gee, I wonder why those checkpoints are necessary.
Shall we list every single terrorist attack committed by the Palestinians in the past several decades?
How bout the several invasions of Israel perpetrated by their Arab neighbors, which were never successful, and have been abandoned in favor of diplomatic relations.

All those other Muslim countries should be opening their arms to the refugees from Gaza.

Middle Eastern problems require Middle Eastern solutions. Been that way 3000 years.
The West should not be involved in millennia old sand tribe conflicts.
