I mean, are these people fricking sane at all? $1400 even to a poor person isn’t shite. Do these elites have any idea how much it costs to live in this country? Sharply cutting poverty is simply laughable.

I guess Trump practically ended poverty last year.

You shouldn’t question the propaganda, they will send the thought police.

That is barely enough for rent and food for a month depending on where you live.

Well, in his speech (from the basement) he said yesterday that the purpose of the stimulus was 'to bring the economy ROARING BACK!
He didn't mention reducing poverty.

Seems like the poverty level is being raised and folks already making $15 or a few dollars above per hour are being added to the new poverty level

So for less than $4 a day, Biden eliminated poverty?

"Sharply cuts poverty" is not a data based assessment but leave it to the media to deceive and obscure the truth for political optics.

And I’m sure all of the people who took the renting moratoriums will pay their landlords right away with it.

It's always being raised because it compares people to the norm. When the norm rises, the poverty rate rises.

Honestly does anyone think you’ve reduced poverty when you give someone $41 a day (1400/31)? Seriously if he came out there and said I’ve sharply cut poverty by giving you $41 a day to live this month and I’m not paying you any other month, everyone would rightfully acknowledge that as insane.

The spin on the promised $2k has been fascinating.

I’ve read this bill is a historic achievement of giving back to the American people, we’ve never seen anything like it. I’ve read Trump only bailed out his billionaire friends too

When you print money, its illegal and called counterfeit. When the government prints money, its called quantitative easing, with socialist undertones of course.

Hooray for inflationary hell!

I heard a former Clinton and Obama economic advisor explain that the $1.9 trillion was all about 5-10 million unemployed whose jobs are projected to not come back. The braindead news reporter person wasn't sharp enough to ask, "that's $190,000 per person, what do you think would happen if we gave each of them $10,000 when they land a job and a $25,000 I'm not a deadbeat bonus if they're holding that job 18 months later? And that would save the American taxpayer $1.5 trillion."

Why did mine and another poster’s post disappear by pointing out this is straight up propaganda and Amazon has a stake in the Washington Post?
