In short, we bribe Egypt to not attack Israel. So basically, foreign aid to Egypt is also foreign aid to Israel. Making the point of your OP all the more glaringly ridiculous

If they can't defend themselves, then wave the fricking white flag, don't fleece American taxpayers for your war. We need to get the hell out of foreign wars. Bring troops here to protect our borders. No country is sailing ships or flying aircraft here without detection. It's time for American taxpayers to not fund the world's defense. People need to understand that Israel is our ally and for all intents and purposes a western culture country in the hell hole that is the Middle East.
It may not be a great situation but the US has to have over the top relations with Israel so we don’t run the risk of and second holocaust. Because that is what a lot of Muslim groups out there want.
