If they want equal rights. If they are allowed to kill their own unborn baby then they should be able to get drafted. They clearly have a taste for killing .

I completely agree with you on this. Being a combat veteran I think women should be eligible for a draft, but be put in non-combat MOS's. I say this to the extent that most men in the armed forces will have a more protectionist attitude when it comes to fellow soldiers in the battlefield. I think that would be even more so with female combatants. I think having a female your team would alter the way a person would fight, and in essence compromise the situation.

Um, hello. This is 2020. The military is about social justice, not fighting wars.

I wasn't calling you a SJW. I was giving you the response a SJW would have to your very logical statement.

Unfortunately I think you're right. We are way too civilized when conducting warfare. The idea of the US going to war should make every country in the world shite their pants.

I'm not as cynical. As I stated my daughter is serving and I had the opportunity to meet some of the men and women (boys and girls in my eyes) and I must say I was damn impressed with their attitudes and military bearing.

In some ways I think the soldiers today may be more dialed in and I'll tell you why. When I served in the Reagan era, there was a lot of patriotism and if was much more accepted and to a degree expected people to serve in the military. Nowadays kids sign up and get a lot of blow back from their SJW friends that want to stay home in their safe zones. My kid had a bigger calling and the new people she associates with have changed her in a way where she finally understands why I think the way I do. (drives her mom nuts..LOL)

In the interest of equality, they should be the ONLY ones drafted for the first couple of years since men have been the only ones drafted in all previous drafts. The first groups out should be the pussy-hat wearers. Since women are considered second-class citizens, at best, in almost every country we could potentially go to war with, they have the most to lose.

No, we all know if we are drafting, we are going boots on ground war. Deep down we also know that women in the military are not there to fight wars.

I am sure there exists a number of women that could absolutely whip my arse and would make fine soldiers and leaders. But identifying them is not what the draft is about.

But looking around at most 'men' these days I may be wrong and should take the girls

No. A society that asks its women to go defend its men deserves everything coming to it.

Agree. And same thing for a country that chooses a woman to lead them. Ridiculous.

I agree with this. Anyone with common sense knows that your average woman isnt physically or mentally equal to a male in terms of war.

Yea, but there are plenty of things women can do that doesn't involve being on the front lines. They could sit in a trailer and blow **** up with drones.

There is a movement to restart the failed ERA. They kept getting extensions for states to ratify and they finally gave up.
Now, the feminists want to start where they left off and fish for 4 or 5 more states. The law says 'No, you have to start over from scratch with zero states ratified.'
If the ERA is revived and passes then women will have to be subjected to the draft by the Constitution should the draft return. Otherwise, every drafted male will sue the govt for sex discrimination.

I see a lot of comments lumping all women in the same category as the Gloria Steinem's. There are thousands of women who believe in traditional roles. Many of those women would love to be housewives but can't afford to do so. In the 50's one income was enough to afford a mortgage, a car, and college for the children. For most families today it takes two incomes. Americans daughter's shouldn't be forced into a role they didn't ask for. There are many women who believe differently from the bitter women who created this mess we call society.

It won't ever be until the Republic is at the end but if the draft is reinstated, hell yes.
