This doesn't obligate anyone to accept your cash though.

I don't believe we'll ever go 100% cashless. I say leave it up to the free market economy to decide...businesses and the consumer.

If you want to be controlled go cashless. Cash is freedom, period.

No on the cashless society, we need to keep cash around. Just look at what Canada did to those that disagreed with policy, they electronically put a hold on all bank accounts.

The truckers lost access to their accounts when they protested Canada and the COVID horseshite.

Look at how the US Govt used [read: forced] credit card and ticket info to target people traveling/flying in and around DC for the Jan 6 debacle.

I keep enough cash in my safe to handle mortgage and bills for up to 3 months, and emergencies...just in case.

If a disaster strikes and the internet/power is off you would still have cash.

This ^^^ is correct.

Think Carrington Event, EMP or grid hack/overload. If you have no physical currency, you only have trade.

Always have physical currency of multiple denominations, period. Keep ones, fives, tens and 20s. Having physical gold is a bonus especially if talking long term outage (months-years). Bury the stuff in air/water tight jars old school style if you must.

Agreement to surrender to a cashless system is agreement to completely surrender your financial independence and privacy. People need to be careful what they wish for.

Think about gun control and gun free zones.

The government doesn’t care or attempt to take the guns away from the thugs who do 90%,of the shootings.

The government wants to prevent law abiding citizens from protecting themselves.

Going cashless won’t stop crime, it will be used to stop speech the State doesn’t like.

I have about $25 in my wallet. The rest of my money is digital currency. It's just numbers in computer banking systems.

How's that really different? I'm not for or against digital currency. I'm pretty ignorant on it all.

The issue isn't digital currency itself. The issue is the federal government having control over a digital currency issued from a central bank.
Imagine there is a gas shortage and the federal government decides that gas should be rationed. With a CBDC the government could control how much each person spends in gas in a determined time period.
Do you trust our federal government with that level of control?
I don't.

It is but that is YOUR choice. You could also choose to slowly withdraw it and store the cash elsewhere.

The government hates the middle class. They only want their money.

Once they go cashless - they will make the middle class “dollars” worth less than the upper class and the impoverished.

The government cannot help themselves because they have no limit to their own greed.

Fear. "No man can buy or sell, unless he have The Mark"

Not to mention the social credit scheme that China has.

I currently follow the law. The left wants to turn me into a criminal for owning a gun. The right wants to turn me into a criminal for buying hemp derivatives. You want to take away my ability to skirt authoritarianism.

Why do so many people hate freedom? Can we get a rational political party that wants to protect the country while still caring more about freedom than inflicting their morals on others?

This is the problem with politics right here. I brought up an issue, and all you did was attack me instead of giving a reason for agreeing or disagreeing.

When I read crap like this, it makes me think we deserve to be in the bs we are in.

I've done plenty to not only say, but to show that I care about freedom. Grow up.
