What are y’alls thoughts about this rep getting arrested for DWI? Would you still trust them and have confidence in their ability to make the best decisions for you and our state? It seems a little hypocritical to have a state rep who is running into cars while intoxicated deciding the direction of our state. I think she should’ve resigned the morning she woke up in jail. Also wondering if she’s a habitual drunk and how she’d fit inside the vagrancy law definition.

Same. Cathy is too close to teachers unions for my tastes. I didn’t know she was an irresponsible drunk. Gives us responsible drunks a bad name.

A. This is what happens when you don't let the troopers drive you home after the New Legislator's Kegger.

B. I'll be watching for her to introduce legislation to raise the legal limit to .144

You should watch more Pelosi press conferences. Then you would not have to imagine, you can watch in real time

No and no. However, this culture of immediately calling for someone to be fired from their job is bullshite, and you know it.

Getting fired from Burger King is different than public office. You driving drunk shouldn’t keep you from making chicken fries but an elected official shouldn’t be breaking the law.

As someone in the OT posted (paraphrased),
"When you stop putting politicians on a level that they're better than yourself, you won't worry about such trivial shite."

We all make mistakes though... DUI really has no impact on her ability to perform her job, and the penalties for first offense DUI need to be softened

It’s the Louisiana legislature. You’d be a fool to have this confidence about any of them.

If she puts in her time picking up trash on the side of the highway in a orange vest with tv coverage, I don't think she needs to resign.

She’s a shill for the teacher’s unions and took lots of trial attorney money as well. She should resign, but she won’t.

Wrong. Drunk drivers kill thousands every year needlessly.
