Proof of sterilization before receiving government assistance is one scenario.
How about long term birth control, something reversible... the goal is to have assistance temporary.

Government assistance usually doesn’t solve the problem.

Sure, but taxpayers shouldn't be on the hook for them.

I've said for years that they get one mistake. After that, Norplant should be put in their arms until they can prove that they can afford any more children.

Yes.
Simple reason.
Sooner or later there will be a President in office whose views do not align with yours. If you give the Government the power to decide who can and cannot have children, it is just a matter of time before a President will use that power in a way you won't like.
Are Social Security and Medicare Government Assistance? Is Obamacare? Is public education, such as a public University? Is driving on publicly funded roads? Is the banking system Government Assistance?

Occam's razor applies here

They shouldn’t be able to get additional assistance. Benefits max out at two kids, any more after that you gotta figure out how to provide for them

They can have as many as they want. After two, just don't increase their allotment.

the long run, it would save us money to pay them like $10K to self-sterilize
I dunno why we don’t do this. Their habit of instant gratification without long term thinking would work well here, many would do it in a heartbeat to get the quick cash

You mean like subsidizing the survival of the least productive non-contributors to society who commit significant amounts of crime, then flooding millions more from other countries in to also have children and subsidize those too, all for votes?

I did not know a person could have a used child. Aren't they all new?
Posted on 10/5/25 at 7:47 pm to weagle1999
No. If you cannot afford what you have then you should not have more on the tax payer's dime.
Posted on 10/5/25 at 7:48 pm to weagle1999
they should not be allowed to vote

Sure, but they shouldn't get paid extra per child.

You should take a minute to review how leftists define "government assistance," and then come to the realization that this is a terrible question we should not be asking.

I used to work with a lady that had identical triplet sons.

Lol having more and more kids to stay on section 8 and welfare is a career path for millions of women.
My sister's old friend is one of those. By the time this woman was 24 years old, she already had 6 kids by 5 baby daddies. She would've had 8 at that time but the twins were miscarried. I've not seen this woman in 20 years, she probably has 14+ kids now. Her career path was to have kids and let government take care of her and them. And it definitely worked. I guarantee she has never worked a day in her life..but was bringing in more resources than a lot of 3 and 4 income households.
Added: was just thinking about it, if all her daughters followed the same path, she probably already has over 30 grandchildren.

Government assistance means you have already given the government the power to aid people in survival for no reason other than they simply exist, no?

Should parasitic members of our society be not only allowed, but encouraged to have children that they can’t afford to support?

No. I think anyone on the govt teet should be sterilized after 2. Both male and females.
