I detest abortion, but this is a sure fire way to get every liberal and progressive unified and pissed off… and I don’t mean to downplay the barbarity of the practice, but it’s not going to get overturned. This is an unforced error, IMO.

It might. There have been a lot of surprise reversals in the court's history.

Maybe

That is what should come into focus out of this. We had PP and abortion on the ropes a few years ago (David P's hidden camera work) and we let them off. They were literally defending the sale of baby parts. We need to regain that momentum.

Yep. They are tone deaf if they think this is a good time to go after this.

The left wing is already marching to the sea and burning everything in the way. Worrying about their reaction is stupid.

Cruz just said goodbye to ever being on the Supreme Court.

I abhor abortion. But this move at this time is like removing your choke hold from your opponent that is about to tap out and trying some stupid risky move that is sure to fail and give your opponent new life. There is so much to attack this administration on and make serious gains. Abortion is not it, right now. We need more political momentum going into 2022 and then 2024. Once you reach a large consensus then you can make these risker moves to make some serious gains. Nothing will come of this move from Hawely , Lee and Cruz.

True dat - this is the first serious issue that I differ with Cruz on.

And it is the timing of it, rather than the merits.

This gives the entire left wing cabal another 'panic' 'existential threat' level issue to blanket the airwaves.

Pissed off at the timing.

It's a shitty decision.
Poorly reasoned and written.
It should be overturned/abrogated.

They are currently in the minority in both Houses. The party in power is failing badly and midterms will be here before long.

You do not start fighting for a massively divisive issue while your opponent is consistently fricking up and you are not in power. Let him fail with no distractions.

Make your moves when you have the power. Taking the spotlight off your opponent while they are a shitshow is plain stupid.

"The libs might not like it and respond irrationally" is a pretty weak argument. I guess this is why the Mitt Romneys of our party still have so much power.

They don't want to address vaccine or big tech issues that are front and center. They are bought off. Especially Lee in terms of big tech. So they go for some red meat to distract their voting base. Probably won't work.

Want to be an activist and advocate? Anyone who wants this overturned should be prepared to take orphaned children in to their homes. Because that’s what will happen. Put some skin in the game.

Until then, let those who make those decisions answer for them.

Roe v Wade is the least of this country’s problems right now.
