this Bill is not passing the house. in fact, they won't even vote on it before the midterms and the republicans are going to get routed, essentially killing the bill. its dead in the water.

This is bs. The senate should pass The Save America Act. Period.
College sports should not be a priority of our federal government when elections are fraudulent throughout the country.
Fix elections, then fix college sports.
Oh, and don’t forget to codify Trump executive orders which represent the platform that 77.5 million Americans voted for in 2024.
Without it most everything Trump has done in his second term will be undone just like it was within days after Biden took office. And I don’t recall a slew of republican lawyers and politicians filing lawsuits to get injunctions to prevent Biden and the demorats from undoing most of what Trump accomplished in his first term.

The big conferences will break away from the NCAA and form their own league. This salary cap and the self governing rulings the SEC keeps pushing for are designed for just that.

Summary:
The salary cap is now 48 million including any booster payouts, no longer over the top payments.
The SEC tv contract for SEC was 40 million, with CFP expansion, tournament participation, etc that number is now over 70 million.
One transfer in 5 years.
Five years to play five.
Agents get 5% of the contract only.......this is gonna make a lot of long lost daddies who suddenly reappear very upset.
I didnt see anything on how they would address the few teams like Texas and Ohio State who are already beyond the new cap.

You do realize that this bill has massive bi-partisan support, do you not? It passed the Senate by a vote of 77-22.

Coaches are employees and are engaged in advancement in their careers. The athletes are there to go to school and get an education. Collegiate athletics is more than just football and basketball.

College football sold its very soul around the turn of the century. This is all just a continuation of all that.
