That shouldn't matter. The point of collegiate athletics is for students to compete for their schools on scholarship while earning a degree. This is true for the vast majority of student-athletes who are on these campuses. Only a small minority of them are actually there to play their way into the next level of their sport. We are going to destroy college athletics for them? Nuh-uh. Not a chance.

I'm not watching it, though.
I can't name 5 players on the current team this year. It's a different team every year. That's not enjoyable to me. And from what I have been told, every player my team lost last year was due to being outbid.
We are paying a QB $3 million this year who would start at maybe only 3 other teams in the conference. If that's the going rate for a very pedestrian player, I don't see how any stability is possible. Only two years ago the only QBs in the league who made that much were NC caliber QBs.
That rate of inflation is crazy and unsustainable.
So sure, players, be as greedy as everyone else. Keep in mind, however, there are 132 head coaches. There are 18,500 of you players.
Math is undefeated.
At some point the house of cards collapses.

Fun fact. The Pittsburgh Steelers of 1979 were the last team to win the Superbowl with all players from their system (no free agents).
Another fun fact. Announcers were not allowed to broadcast the playing history of TJ Finley because it would take two commercial breaks, nearly an hour and run over the broadcast of the next scheduled game (okay I made that up).
One last fun fact. Earnie Holmes the NG for the Steelers had a mental episode shooting at cop cars and a helicopter when his wife left him. He was arrested and Rooney the owner of the Steelers bailed him out and took formal custody and sent him to a mental institute for two months. He returned to the team and won two superbowls.
Two things to know. That is the reason the players loved the owner Rooney for the person he was......And I wish my college team had a crazy mfker like Ernie playing nose.

They are killing the sport as is. It is probably too far gone now anyway. Players should NEVER be making more than coaches. If they want to give them some money to play, so be it. Their reward should come from making it to the next level, if they do well in college. Just like it was forever. If you think what is going on now is sustainable, then you are nuts. These wealthy boosters didn't get wealthy by giving money away. They will realize it sooner rather than later. The players making this much money and being able to transfer at will it completely destroying the sport. The democrats started all this bs for a method of wealth redistribution. It is sickening. You have actual real difference makers in this world with their head in a book trying to better themselves and this country....barely getting by, sacraficing all to achieve a goal. Then you have these athletes that are unproven, many up to no good, getting all this money. The world is upside down.
