why did they adjourn after Foghorn and Whitehouse spoke? Are they voting in closed session?

X is saying the democrats are trying to delay the vote for a week.
Foghorn Kennedy did an excellent job countering Durbin by saying the supreme court said the J6th people were overcharged.

It sounds like Durbin wants a week for everyone to read Kash Patels book.
Grassley?

How do democrats have this power as a minority?
This is ridiculous

Grassley's ancient arse should've called for the damn vote

Temp positions can still clean house. In all the news: Who are the top 3 or 5 at the FBI right now? I forget.

So who's in charge of the FBI?
What if there's an event this weekend in Nola for the Super Bowl?

There shouldn't even be a vote.
Trump won the presidency. I don’t care if he wants the Jolly Green Giant as AG. He should be able to put in who he wants no questions asked.

Exactly.
And even if not it is stupid for the senate to vote and have everyone act like they can prevent it when in reality they can't. Either the vote should have authority behind it or it shouldn't even happen.

The Senate Judiciary Committee’s consideration of Kash Patel’s nomination to lead the FBI was pushed until next week as Democrats delayed it due to panel rules.
Voting on Patel’s nomination was on the agenda for Judiciary members, but Democrats requested it be held over one week. It is the prerogative of a member to request such a move one time.
A similar move was made on Attorney General Pam Bondi’s nomination last month.
Patel is now expected to be voted out of committee by Republicans next Thursday.
This does little to affect Patel’s confirmation chances, however, as he is still in a strong position to win the green light from Republican senators when all is said and done.
With Patel held over, Senate Republicans are expected to consider Tulsi Gabbard — Trump’s pick for national intelligence director — and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Health and Human Services secretary, as part of the next batch of Trump nominees set to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
The move follows an expeditious effort by Republicans to move the president’s nominees through the chamber. The Senate has confirmed 12 nominees in less than three weeks.
The chamber is also expected to cement Russell Vought as director the Office of Management and Budget Thursday night, with the push far outpacing the president’s first term or during former President Biden’s tenure.

Delay is no good. They are forming a new line of attack and gathering info or rogue testimony.

This should have been done last week. This is dumb
I agree. Simple logic tells you it shouldnt take a fricking month after the President is sworn in to get his cabinet picks affirmed. It is blob self preservation on full display.
All the big fish behind the scenes killing time to either sabotage this or cover tracks as much as possible.
