Sen. John Kennedy says he’s considering running for president

Sen. John Kennedy, R-La., told NBC News’ “Meet the Press” that he is considering a run for president in 2028.
Asked by moderator Kristen Welker whether he was thinking about running for president, Kennedy replied, “Yeah.”
“My plans right now are to run for re-election, but as I’ve said before, if I don’t think I can be effective in the Senate anymore, I would consider it,” he said.

“On my side of the aisle, if a bunch of goobers run, and I think they’re goobers and one of the goobers might win, and I think I could do a better job, I would consider running,” he said. “But right now, I’m running for re-election.”

Vice President JD Vance is widely considered a likely presidential candidate in 2028. Kennedy, though, declined to talk about Vance when asked why voters should pick the senator over the vice president.
“I’m not going to talk about another potential candidate,” he said. “I’m just not there yet.”
He added that he thinks “it’ll be good for both parties to have a full field.”
President Donald Trump has previously floated both Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio as potential successors. In September, Rubio said he has “no plans at this time” to run for president.
NBC News previously reported that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has talked about potentially running for president in 2028, which a Pentagon spokesperson denied. Separately, Vance told NBC News last week that it was “really obvious to me” that Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, was running for president in 2028.

The fraud who was too chickenshit to challenge a vulnerable John Bel Edwards for Governor in 2019 despite all hit whitty sound bites is considering a run for President?

It’s like Bran Stark saying he could never be Lord of Winterfell because he’s a crippled 3-eyed raven.
But king? “I think I could handle that.”

Aka Kennedy is preparing to grift for retirement.

Kennedy vs Landrieu? Would at least be entertaining. But a terrible idea for our country.

He has his hand out. When donations slow down he'll make one last stand for a bigger donation to withdraw. Take the money acquired for next political run and cover traveling expenses.
Same shite they all do.
Same shite they all do.

Well...in Letterkenny voice, "To be FAAAIIIIRRR"...
As LA State Treasurer he was key in torpedoing a couple Bob Odom grifting projects. He, in that position, was good at calling out and alerting taxpayers to other grift by Louisiana politicians, and led several fights to deny funding for such.
However, it is obvious now that he's just good sitting back, comfy with the rest of the swamp, collecting a taxpayer funded check, retirement and healthcare.
If he were serious about governing and being a leader, he would have run for Governor in 2019. He didn't. He passed, and failed all of Louisiana in doing so.

And yep.
He’s no better than the rest. Just funnier.

I do like to hear him speak, though. His questions to Kash Patel during the FBI Oversight Hearing a few weeks ago regarding beastiality had me laughing hysterically.

He just sees an opportunity to dupe a bunch of morons out of their cash that he can then spend on things that have absolutely nothing to do with getting elected as president.

I was once taken in by his diatribe, sitting on panels, asking gotcha questions, and spinning that folksy personna. Then I saw his voting record. Tom Cotton as well. A bit wiser, voting records are all I see now.
Tim Burchette is the real deal tho, and my vote would happily go there.

Why do these guys with no chance say things like this?

Heck, I would vote for him. There's a lot of wisdom hidden under that folksy facade.
I remember that's why I liked Ronald Reagan so much........he had a nack for disarming a tense situation with his folksy demeaner.
IMO humor at the right moment always calms things........not too much, not too little. Senator John Kennedy seems to have that gift.
We've got a lot of talent in the Republican Party.

Like most of the rest of them, he has Swamp Water on his pants leg. Kennedy was against an independent group looking into J6.
I'm not 100% certain who the right choice for 2028 is, but it isn't him.

Sen. John Kennedy vs Rahm Emanuel could be a compelling race.
Where does Kennedy stand on the Trump/MAGA Iran War?

There is tremendous graft in campaign funds.
