If you're one of the remaining 1,300 LEO, do you just sit & wait till working conditions, due to money & officer-on-the-streets cuts, deteriorate to where you are having to work hrs & hrs of overtime, if permitted? While the public has already told you they hate you?

Seattle's effort to defund the police will not be enough to satisfy the radical anarchist/communist crowd but will be enough to piss off and further jeopardize the police force. And the one voice of reason resigns. Can't say that I blame her.

Yea but that 285k salary was bloated. Looking at the other big cities she’s making about 60k more than bigger cities or the same as some bigger cities.
Plus she’s not doing a great job (which is 100% to blame on their politics) I feel like Seattle will look like some post apocalyptic movie scene in about 2mos after these budget cuts

Who wants to be a police officer these days?
Democrats and msm have sowed mass hatred for cops. Every cop is considered a ww2 nazi now. It's the most dangerous thing to happen to our country over the last few decades. More and more innocent citizens will have their lives destroyed during this campaign to get rid of law enforcement.

They defunded a small portion of the dept. This was a token to try and please the mob and also to keep the law abiding masses pleased.
They can to one party that we cut back the dept and the got rid of the Chief, then talk out the other side of their mouth and say we made minimal cuts to the dept, we are still for law and order.
Of course they knew Best would retire. Maybe she can run for mayor. Bring back some support for the police in the mayor's office.

Inability to control rioting and to protect innocent citizens from mob violence? No problem.

Any blue urban areas in need of a Police Chief?
