It’s amazing how many people are out of a job when the government outlaws patronizing their businesses.

she might die from the 10 other underlying issues she's got, but the Wuhan flu ain't gonna take her.

My nurse friend hit me with, “dude, what we’re doing to the economy is worth it. Every life matters.”

I didn’t know how to respond so I changed the subject. There’s no getting through to someone who genuinely doesn’t mind tanking the economy to save some small and unknown amount of people.

Do you even understand the point of the comment?

The stats being reported are simply not reflective of what is actually happening.

As of Wednesday, NYC had 1,400 deaths. All but 18 had underlying issues. Not saying they would have all died without the virus, but the reverse is not true, either.

Excerpt from an Open Letter from Professor Sucharit Bhakdi (Professor Emeritus of Medical Microbiology at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz) to German Chancellor Dr. Angela Merkel

quote:

At the same time, the mistake is being made worldwide to report virus-related deaths as soon as it is established that the virus was present at the time of death – regardless of other factors. This violates a basic principle of infectiology: only when it is certain that an agent has played a significant role in the disease or death may a diagnosis be made. The Association of the Scientific Medical Societies of Germany expressly writes in its guidelines: „In addition to the cause of death, a causal chain must be stated, with the corresponding underlying disease in third place on the death certificate. Occasionally, four-linked causal chains must also be stated.“

how many people are going to die by destroying the economy. Suicides, malnutrition, depression, losing a home. Rush earlier today said “it’s not about lives vs the economy.....it’s about lives for lives”

You should ask her “why don’t healthy people’s lives matter? Just about every non-sick person’s live is being diminished right now”.

Medical people call it a “distracting injury”. Someone comes in bleeding from their head.l after a fall.... the cut gets treated but they miss the heart attack the person is having that caused the fall.

I hope there continues to be no way to "get through" to them.

Or doesn't have the mental capacity to understand that far more lives will be lost due to a collapsed economy, than a virus with a mortality rate of 1.4% (as of right now).

Show them pictures of the gulags, or mass graves from not adhering to what a totalitarian dictator tells them. And when they ask why you are showing them those pictures, you calmly tell them this shutdown is showing those in power just how much power they actually have and it can likely lead them to seizing that power.

This is just fricking disgusting to think about. I don't give a shite if I am heartless. I am willing to die from the Kung flu, so we don't have to resort to a totalitarian government.
