Their ranked choice voting system is idiotic.

It does what it was designed to do perfectly: keep Lisa Murkoswski in power.

Based on who won the seat, it means Palin had a plurality of votes and the other GOP voters put her dead least

I thought the Americas were populated by people who crossed the land mass that existed in the Bering sea thereby making you asian or indian depending on the point of departure.

Don't they have the same election again in November? for the same seat?

No wonder you were crushed and driven off of “your” land. To the victor goes the spoils.

I hate to think that this is a sign for November. The Dem candidate was strongly pushing the. pro-choice position. I fear that single issue will haunt the Republicans come November. .

The Republican vote was split by Alaska’s new “ranked choice” tabulation as only one Democrat ran. Palin will be back on the ballot in November for an election for the full term.

dont use Alaska as an example.

it's about the most unique state you can get when it comes to voting even before ranked choice was implemented

nah I think the smart move now would be for Palin to drop and Begich be the nominee. The reason I say this is because apparently there are like 20K voters that rather have a ultra progressive in office than Palin. I'd imagine if we had a look at Palins second place votes they'd all be Begich

It'll never happen, Trump endorsed Palin, and there's no way the frontrunner is going to drop out in favor of someone who got 29% of the vote. You "hope" all of Palin's supporters would go over to him, but in Alaska they often vote more for the person than the party, since the Positions for either Democrats and Republicans up there are practically identical. Guns, Fish, Timber, Oil, Minerals, Cheaper goods, and tourism. You don't win w/o that platform.

She screwed Alaska for $500 million on a pipeline which was never going to be built while governor.

It will, at least for the Senate. MAGA was about transcending the noise issues of the time (of which abortion is one) and that's what made it successful. The MAGA of today is not what it was in 2016

Ethnicity is the important thing. Good luck with wind and solar power in Alaska. I'm sure it will work just fine.
