I know. Tell me about it. My friends have gone deep into this BS. And I am trying to bring them back from the edge. I just need the answers, so I can talk some sense into them.

Can you help me set them straight? If not no problem.

A statement does not constitute “political speech“ if it was made with a profit motive.

If seeking a profit is the sole line between political and commercial speech, almost every news outlet in this country is in trouble.

Imo, Jones may be susceptible because I believe his schtick is largely an act. I think he even admitted as such in his divorce or custody proceeding. If there are memos, emails or other electronic information that show Jones doesn't actually believe what he is spouting about Sandy Hook, but does it anyway for ratings or attention, that's a much better argument to possibly survive summary judgment.

Fake news. They didn't win anything. This is a granting of discovery.

Alex Jones never pushed what he is being accused of. They will get nothing financially.

I believe in a cyclical climate system, that all the food is organic, and Alex Jones sells retards supplements at ridiculous markups.

What? I don't understand. Are you accusing ME of believing this? I am the one trying to debunk it!

He actually sells stuff cheaper than you can get elsewhere. Many are relabeled products you can buy elsewhere for more money.

He has some very good probiotics and you won't find better mineral supplements. They have been tested by groups like buzz feed trying to prove they were crap and had to admit they were actually good products.

You could grab a bottle for around $10 and skip the 2X+ price markup from Infowars," one lab review reads

but extensive tests provided to BuzzFeed News have shown that they're little more than overpriced and ineffective blends of vitamins and minerals that have been sold in stores for ages.

Survival Shield X-2, for example, "is just plain iodine, the same stuff doctors used to pour on surfaces as a disinfectant

When the company tested Anthroplex, which retails for $29.95, it found that there was so little zinc that "if you're extremely zinc deficient, the value...is not going to be significantly helpful." The report notes that "you could actually get another zinc orotate supplement for around $5 WITH an impactful serving size," before concluding simply that "this product is a waste of money."

In almost every example, Labdoor's tests and reviews describe the products as little more than heavily overpriced supplements with few health benefits, if any.

To be fair, 95% of what GNC sells is crap too. People will never tire of snake oil.

It's not crazy or obsessive to ask simple questions and not just accept what's on the news.

It's a simple question and the fact that the local govt blocks any attempt to obtain the answer should strike someone as odd.

Um. I'm not aware of a law against being a conspiracy profiteer? I'm pretty sure that's called free speech and entertainment.

Why the hell are they entitled to his internal marketing documents and financial records?

This is a dangerous new precedent. One that hopefully can be used against someone, say, like NBC who ran with the Julie Swetnik gang rape story accusation against Kavanaugh even though they knew they were fake. That is absolutely as terrible as what Alex Jones did. NBC should suffer the same sanctions and their entire marketing data, financial data, and journalists story references should be made public and then they should be banned from social media and all hosting sites should shut down their pages.

Equality and fairness right?

There's no doubt Alex Jones is a weirdo and takes things too far. But this will be another example of bullshite double standards

listed their addresses

Funny you should mention that..

quote:

The Pozner family’s story is recounted in the court filings: In 2015, after Mr. Pozner succeeded in having an Infowars video taken down from Mr. Jones’s YouTube channel, “Mr. Jones went on an angry rant about me for nearly an hour,” Mr. Pozner said in an affidavit. Mr. Jones “also hosted a call with an obsessed fellow conspiracy theorist who issued a threat to me.”

“Mr. Jones then showed his audience my personal information and maps to addresses associated with my family,” the affidavit says.

quote:

A month after the shooting, he began broadcasting excerpts from Ms. De La Rosa’s interview with the CNN anchor Anderson Cooper, which was taped in front of the Edmond Town Hall in Newtown. Mr. Jones falsely claimed that the interview was taped in a studio before a “green screen.”

In an April 2017 Infowars broadcast titled “Sandy Hook Vampires Exposed,” according to the court documents, Mr. Jones aired the clip of Ms. De La Rosa’s interview, noting that when Mr. Cooper turns his head, “his nose disappears repeatedly because the green screen isn’t set right.” The Pozner filings include an affidavit from Grant Fredericks, a forensic video analyst and expert witness, in which he attributes the anomaly in the videotape to “postproduction compression,” common in video production, and said “no credible video professional, editor or web-content specialist would conclude” that the interview was taped in front of a screen.
