So far the after hours trading doesn’t agree with you. It’s early and a lot can happen but no one is hitting the panic button.
I mean I don’t know a lot, our firm only has $177,110,996,691 under management as of this moment. Talking to the guys on the trading desk no one seems nearly as shook as you.

Phase 1 of the Trump reset of the economy is DOGE wiping a trillion dollars of fraud and waste from the government. Which is good, but taking a trillion out of the economy will be a remarkable out going tide and all ships will settle lower. Thats a recession.
Phase 2 Tariff adjustment worldwide will make American manufactures more competitive with foreign companies boosting the gross domestic product to help recover from the waste/fraud recession.
Tariffs on BMW and Porches will promote sales of Cadillacs and Lincoln's.
French wine at another 5 bucks a bottle tariff will encourage purchase of California wine

How do you know Team Trump didn't make an offer to each nation stating the US would refrain from enacting tariffs if they in turn dropped their tariffs?
Because it's not actually based on tariffs. It's some black-box calculation of what the administration perceives as "trade barriers". As an example, listen to what Trump said about the tariff on incoming Chinese products: based on currency manipulation and "other trade barriers", not tariffs. Then there's the 10% tariff that applies apparently to everyone not on the big board. There is not, that I know of, a blanket 10% tariff on American goods in 180-some countries around the world.
So if the Trump administration went around to a bunch of (all?) countries, the one thing they probably did not say is "lower your tariffs and we'll lower ours." It would be more like "let your currency float, don't subsidize X industry, deregulate Y, then we'll talk". But it would be a different conversation everywhere.

gives countries until some date in the future to drop their tariffs on US goods, or else face consequences including reciprocal tariffs, but in a way that makes sense and encourages both countries to get to 0% tariffs.
That day was today. They've had 5 months since the election in November to prepare. Boo hoo if they didn't.

Quit being a dumbass.
Look at the list of countries. Until today I bet NO ONE knew the amount of tariffs being imposed on US goods abroad - essentially blocking those markets from us.
That IS NOT the beloved free trade you keep crying about. Trade implies two parties and to date only one has been open and free while simultaneously being blocked from foreign markets due to excessive tariffs.
At a minimum, if you want to sell your cheap shite here - we should be able to sell our goods there to whoever can afford them. Without tariffs or penalties.
THAT’S free trade you twit.
