To be fair, it's not San Francisco's responsibility to unilaterally end homelessness. Sure there's some policies that contribute to high housing prices
They do nothing more than incentivize it. There are all kinds of people that try to build new housing and it's constantly blocked by the same city council that says they need more housing.
Maybe if these worthless sacks of shite were kicked out of every town they would have an incentive to be a productive member of society

who said he's stopped promoting the city until the government officials can start taking care of their people.

I was there for a couple weeks in January 2012 and it was nice. I mean there were a lot of panhandlers but nothing shocking for a big city. Has it really deteriorated that drastically in just 7 years? That’s terrible.

Yes, it has gotten a lot worse

I was there 2 weekends ago for an engagement celebration. Was amazed at the amount of homelessness. Literally multiple bums on almost every street.

This thread is hyperbole.
It isn't that bad. I mean I wouldn't touch those downtown elevators and the tenderloin is terrible.....but the rest of the town seemed pretty normal for a big city.
The politics and the property value issues rank ahead of the poopy homeless as issues to me for SF.
I mean NOLA isn't better is it?

San Fransisco is one hell of a red pill for anyone that's not completely far gone into the blackhole that SJW communism is.

quote:WGAF? Maybe their queen Pelosi will save them with more sanctuary policies. San Fran.. depressing.. a train system construction project set back years due to faulty steel, skyrocketing housing and people literally shitting in the street, checks out.

What's crazy is with all these nouveau rich residents and the highest taxes in America, S.F. could be a jewel of a city again overnight.
Ship out the bums and use the taxes to clean the dirty streets.
NY did it.
Why can't S.F.
They're killing themselves...tourists and conventions aren't coming like they used to anymore. People feel unsafe.
You could easily walk the entire city in a day as a tourist but nobody wants to do it for fear of being accosted.
S.F. solely is relying on Tech residents paying for their liberal dreams.
L.A. might have parts that are shiteholes too but I've never felt uncomfortable in L.A. like visiting S.F. I mean residents are going to expensive restaurants while side-stepping or trying to evade bums because most people just walk in S.F.
Again if NY could turn it around, S.F. can too with the right leadership but they keep electing people who just want to perpetuate this reliance on government to keep themselves in power.

It's hysterically ironic that SF and the bay area will ban straws and make these outlandish environmental policies yet they won't even address the two story mounds of garbage around the corner
It's terribly ironic, considering that legally you can't let your pet poop without picking it up in San Fran, but they let actual people do it with no consequences.
And letting people poop in the streets is 1000 times a worse health hazard and negative impact on receiving waters than straws will ever be.

How can he promote a city when there is nothing but shite and vomit in the streets?

Eh Bernie didn't "cuck out" he got fricked over in the primary. Many Bernie voters did vote for Hillary to screw Trump, but many also said frick the Democratic party and decided to only vote for progressive candidates like Bernie, Tulsi, Yang, and to some extent Warren
