so much food. I went to the park after work yesterday, and as I was lounging, I watched two do-gooders come and hand out better food than I ate last night to the tent population. This is the reality. After work every day, I see food available for anyone to grab out by the BART entrance. not one person here is hungry- not one.

I can't think of any reason that I would ever visit California. San Fran or LA for sure.

Those or just two isolated areas in a state that is a wonderland for anyone interest in the outdoors. California is more deserving of the title "sportsman's Paradise" than Louisiana, it has millions of acres of public land open to hunting and fishing in addition to all the hiking, biking, skiing, etc.

There's a similar thread Thecoli (hardly a conservative bastion website) and posters are just disgusted as your are. My solution was ending war on drugs, using some of that excess prison space to house the mentally ill, take a serious approach to drug treatment, and just deport those that are about that street life (to some us territory island where there is currently no population).

Vagrancy laws used to be in vogue, then again there was no such thing as homeless. Hobos, yes but not homeless.

My friend moved out there for 2 years back in 2010. Used to send us pics of guys taking dumps on the sidewalks, shooting up or bathing in the fountains. He had 2 young kids and didn’t stay long

Maybe things will turn around when San Fran becomes majority Asian.

I’ve been going once or twice per year for 30 years for extended visits to see family. Ocassionally, I’ll have some sort of contretemps with a crazy street person, but all in all, it’s still one of the best cities in the world. Most of the posts in this thread are bullshite.

I've lived in SF for 37 years and none of what they are saying is bullshite.

Next time you are in SF go down to the Tenderloin, Market street or Sixth street just south of Market street and you are putting your life in danger.

Know someone who just moved into an office in the Mission and said it's pretty sketchy

San Fransisco

It's no big deal but you might want to edit your OP title and spell San Francisco correctly.

If it is near Mission and Sixth street then it is one of the most dangerous areas to be in especially at night

I wish but never going to happen NYC runs the state and I'm fully convinced that me, my fiance and a few of our friends are the only trump supporters in NYC.

Apparently the owner of the company said they would get an Uber stipend so they wouldn't have to walk around there late in the evening

OK. I stand corrected. I never go to the Tenderloin. Maybe areas of the city suck now that did not used to. (Tenderloin always sucked.) However, it’s still a beautiful city.

Theu used to keep the tenderloin isolated to a few blocks. Now they basically let it spread to the whole city

Parts of SF are still beautiful but certain parts of beautiful places like Golden Gate Park have been ruined with the homeless living in tents there and leaving all their garbage there.

Try walking through the woods that are off the beaten path and it is disgusting what the homeless have done to the GGP.

It's hysterically ironic that SF and the bay area will ban straws and make these outlandish environmental policies yet they won't even address the two story mounds of garbage around the corner
