understand the distinction just fine. I subscribe to the Westminster Confession of Faith which says that the Pope (the office) is the antichrist, rather than any one Pope.

Interesting because that’s not what the Bible says.
The Bible says although there will be many anti—Christ meaning those that deny christs divinity, there will be one lawless one who will be the Anti-Christ.
So the Anti-Christ will be an individual not an office.
So by definition either a pope or all the popes would have to be Christ divinity deniers in order to an anti-Christ or the anti-Christ.
Can you cite even just one pope in history who denied the divinity of Christ?

I throw my trash in the trash can. I’m a good steward of the environment. Globalclimatewarmingchange is a hoax.

ETA. Climate changes twice a year where I live, with two milder transitional periods in between. It’s been doing this since my ancestors were microbes.

This pope, like his predecessor, needs to have a big steaming mug of STFU.

The Catholic church is looking to get in on the multitrillion dollar scam. When it comes to the Catholic Church, you should always look for the monetary scheme.

The Pope needs to worry about saving souls and not promoting evil.

Catholic myself, this is disheartening.

Can we have a Pope that stays out of the worldly bs?

Apparently, Robert Sarah was a better option than another Woke pope. When the Vatican allowed an army of LBGQT figs to march through, I knew we were in trouble

The argument of the papacy being the antichrist is pretty in-depth.

To summarize, the papacy takes its seat in the temple (the church) proclaiming itself as God (2 Thes 2:4), by claiming the titles and roles of God, even being called the holy father. The Pope raises encyclicals above even Scripture (the word of God). The papacy has spiritual tyranny over the souls and consciences of Christ’s people. It deceives people with a false gospel. And it will continue until Christ’s return.

Regarding 1 John 2: the Pope denies the son in less obvious ways than an unbeliever. It usurps Christ as head of the Church. It corrupts the gospel of Christ. It provides mediation apart from Christ. It practically denies Christ’s kingship by exercising rule over the consciences of the faithful. It also claims to be the vicar of Christ, and an alter Christus, or another Christ, ruling in His place.

I could go on, but the Reformers had good reasons for seeing the Papacy as the antichrist, with one Pope becoming the final antichrist at the end prior to Christ’s return.

They weren’t idiots.

There were over 100 ministers included in the assembly.

The pope, as the successor of St. Peter, holds the office of Vicar of Christ, to whom was given the keys to the kingdom and the powers of binding and loosing (see Mt 16:17-19)

quote:

It is a matter of the ordinary magisterium of the Church that the use of contraceptives in marriage to deliberately render the conjugal act incapable of procreation is an intrinsic evil—it is always wrong, regardless of circumstances or intentions. This moral teaching is infallible and irreformable; namely, it is free from error and cannot be reversed. When the pope teaches on this moral issue, he is articulating an infallible moral doctrine to be held by all the faithful that is part of the constant moral teaching and belief of the Church. Although this is a different exercise of his authority than formally issuing an infallible decree, it nevertheless is an act of communicating irreformable truth without error.

So he infallible when issuing teaching on a moral doctrine. Lets review what he said here about the morals of ignoring climate change
quote:

Pope Leo also called for greater action from citizens the world over on climate change, saying there was no room for indifference or resignation. The Pope said that each of us will have to answer a question from God. "God will ask us if we have cultivated and cared for the world that he created for the benefit of all and for future generations.

Sorry, but hes speaking for God here. He even presupposes Gods judgement on your inaction

Bashing the Pope may be fun for you but it won't get you to Heaven. Bashing the Pope may seem like preaching the Gospel to someone but it really isn't.

you people are so sensitive. The pope is a human being, not a god. He is not above being criticized, or "bashed". And doing so in no way has any connection to anyone's path to Heaven. But putting someone on a pedestal, the way you do, does effect that path.

Get over yourself.

The very first sentence tells two colossal lies that are immediatly obvious to anyone with even a superficial understanding of Christianity.

First the papacy sits in a church not a temple. There is a difference.

Second the pope has never claimed to be God.

I could go on and on but thanks for revealing the depravity of your form of Protestantism.

The idea that we will have to answer for our stewardship I think is pretty obvious, but all this global warming crap??
They haven’t even been using that language anymore because it’s not warming. Further, the conclusion by many global warming scientists is that humans are to blame for all the earth’s ills. Mainly that there are too many humans. Their policies would necessarily eliminate many humans from the planet through starvation and or exposure. How can the pope join those who prioritize dirt and animals over human life

The temple was the center of worship for the Old Testament “Church”. Paul says several times that we, as Christians, are the new temple of God. Therefore, the Papacy is that antichrist that sits in the temple, among the people of God, the Church.

quote:

Second the pope has never claimed to be God.
I explained what is meant by that. He take the role and titles of God for the Church. He claims infallibility in matters of faith and morals, and only God’s word is infallible. He claims the power to forgive sin and to release people from purgatory through special plenary indulgences when only God can forgive sin and purify His people. He claims the right and ability to interpret Scripture infallibly even though only God can interpret His own word infallibly. He also has the title of Holy Father, which is reserved for God as our spiritual Father.

He does even more as another Christ, who is God.

I am merely exposing the depravity of the Papacy, which claimed the titles and roles of God.

At this point you guys need to fully understand your church is hiding many things from your understanding
quote:

“The Pope and God are the same, so he has all power in Heaven and earth.”
Pope Pius V, quoted in Barclay, Chapter XXVII, p. 218

quote:

“The pope is of so great dignity and so exalted that he is not a mere man …. he is as it were God on earth, sole sovereign of the faithful of Christ, chief of kings, having plenitude of power.”
(Lucius Ferraris, «Prompta Bibliotheca», 1763, Volume VI, ‘Papa II’, pp.25-29)

quote:

Pope Nicholas I declared: “the appellation of God had been confirmed by Constantine on the Pope, who, being God, cannot be judged by man.”
(Labb IX Dist.: 96 Can. 7, Satis evidentur, Decret Gratian Primer Para)

quote:

“The supreme teacher in the Church is the Roman Pontiff. Union of minds, therefore, requires… complete submission and obedience of will to the Church and to the Roman Pontiff, as to God Himself.”
(Leo VIII, «On the Chief Duties of Christians as Citizens», Encyclical letter, 1890)

quote:

“The Pope is not only the representative of Jesus Christ, he is Jesus Christ himself, hidden under the veil of flesh.”
