I think you’re more likely to have a meltdown when LSU loses a close match against Bama by a missed field goal.
Meltdown less likely when you get your arse handed to you and lose all credibility.
They’re completely, utterly broken by (1) WaPo and LATimes in the early stages of admitting their bias, (2) MSNBC rumored to be up for sale under new parent-company ownership, (3) Twitter and the podcast circuit obviously gaining mindshare amongst the electorate, (4) CBS and ABC pissing away decades of “credibility” with clear and obvious bias this cycle, (5) identity politics being deleted, and (6) them putting all their chips on the table in a last gasp for relevance and Trump calling their bluff to win it all.

Because the Democrat party lost. Had they won the senate or house, they could have just pointed to Kamala as the failure. But the entire party and platform got his arse handed to it. That was unprecedented. And him winning the popular vote also took away any complaint. They literally were not prepared with a message for this level of catastrophe.
