understand that. But I haven't seen or heard his situation described as "stage 4." Have you? I've just heard him describe it as "advanced."

Go to cancer. Org. Stage 4 requires spread to the other lung or to the fluid surrounding the lung or fluid surrounding the heart at the least.

I read on Twitter that it was stage four.
I just listened to Rush's entire radio statement and he never described his diagnosis as stage 4, only "advanced" which could mean a large tumor in his lung. He specifically did NOT mention that the cancer has spread.
It may have spread but Rush didn't say that it has in his radio statement.

Selfishly, this news is heart-breaking to me.
Hope and pray for Rush, a True American Patriot.

If he were at Stage 4 he would probably have felt the effects more severely than he was describing

Perhaps Trump can recommend a good doctor.

What are the chances he makes it the the election in November?
I listened to Rush every day leading up to the 2016 election it would be tough not to have that again

See Hank, this is why nobody likes you. You can’t even say something nice or sympathetic without qualifying it in some way.
It has got to suck to be you.

been a Rush listener since...forever. I knew it wouldn't last forever, but damn I wished it would. Prayers Rush. You are something my dad and I always talked about up until his death 2 years ago. Will be quite a void when you are gone.

If it is small cell he has very limited time unfortunately. He probably had been feeling the effects for a while but was ignoring. Upper back pain, persistent headaches, fatigue, loss of apetite and severe periodic bouts of excruciating abdominal pain....it was probably the abdominal pain with a persistent cough that forced him to see a doctor

Comments not directed to you, PS...but Rush has long acknowledged "talent on loan from Gaawwd". So is life...we'd all better hope.
Rush is irreplaceable, like a lot of top tier movers and shakers. Kobe gone last week; he was a major influence on many of Sport's top competitors.
Rush's quick wit, ruthless honesty laced with humor, and lack of pretense instantly bonded him with the common folk. That is where he started, and that is why he still stands. I imagine Trump learned a lot watching Rush's extraordinary success, and powerful influence. Rush spoke truth to power in a time when most others that held power, cowered in the corner...scared into submission by the (Saul Alinsky strategy)PC tidal wave of public censorship via isolation and derision.
I fear that assuming we continue down the road of civic disunity, political-based antipathy, contempt and Ideological disrespect...that we will look back on the days of Rush as 'the good old days'. Because what will replace both Rush, and Trump, and civil society...will not be funny, entertaining and substantive. It'll be the 'Hatfields and McCoys'.
Prayers to Rush. We need his voice now as much as ever. But the Good Lord may call him in. Rush would not enjoy what is coming, less great wisdom and unifying vision prevail. And minus the Leaders with the metal and courage to bring it...wisdom and vision are just dreams.
Will be interesting to watch/listen to Rush as he slips away. You always get the 'heart' there. Beats an airplane crash; He'll have a shot at his last act...being his best. Relative to eternity...can't beat that.

Really?
Let me tell you about my ex BIL. Star athlete turned high school dropout (managed to get a GED) and drug addict. By star athlete I mean being recruited by Bobby Bowden at FSU...and he drops out. Model good looks. Have on more than one occasion seen hot babes walk up and hand him their phone number.
Joined the Army National Guard because of a $5000 signing bonus. Thought he would collect the money then make some excuse to get discharged. That backfired. They kept him.
He got deployed to Iraq for mop up operations. He did his duty while he was there. Only honorable thing he has done in his whole life.
I told everyone. "You have never seen a case of PTSD like you're about to see when he steps off that airplane". I was right. He LITERALLY got off the airplane crying and telling everyone how screwed up he was now.
Con man played it to the hilt. Got a 100% crazy check. Not a damn thing wrong with him other than lazy as damn it and loves his meth. He loved drugs from the time he was 16. Blamed his drug problems on being in Iraq. Hell, he wanted that signing bonus for drugs.
He has 5 kids by 3 different women. Pays child support on NONE! When the first girl was pregnant with his oldest. Myself and another BIL pulled him off when he was beating her. She was about 8 months pregnant at the time. Let's just say we sent him down the road that night.
Twice I got him out of jail. $1100 that I knew I would never see again. How did he repay me? Stole the $750 laptop I bought my daughter, his niece...his sister's child, for school. Had his girlfriend ask my daughter if she could borrow it a few minutes. Then they took off out the door with it when my kid left the room.
He was busted a couple weeks after that, before I could find him, lucky for him. That bust sent him away.
He just got out of prison after finishing an 8 year Federal sentence on meth charges. While in prison he got busted for collecting his disability check while incarcerated.
What a "knight".

Rush said it started with shortness of breath.
He dismissed it as some form of asthma.
There may have been more signs but that’s all that he described regarding the symptoms.
