It’s fake. The classmate mentioned in the letter has already come forward and said it never happened.
Same material as Romney, same MO as the dossier. They leak the existence of a document, refuse to release it, create media buzz, then leak it. It was a classic smear move from the start.

I understand that the classmate has said he doesn't remember anything like that happening. But is the letter fake? Was it actually written by the person who was in high school with Kavanaugh?

I looked on Twitter about this and the responses are about what you'd expect.
About 80% stomping all over Kavanaugh being a rapist and he should not be confirmed. The 20% coming in saying that the report comes from an anonymous source about an unknown person, and should also be considered a questionable source at best. So the 80% jumps all over the 20% calling them sexist for not playing the game. I don't know, I'd say the other 80% are just stupid. If I'm wrong I'll be the a-hole, but I'd rather be an a-hole than be stupid.

It's fake. Even if it wasn't, she had it back earlier this year and sat on it to publicly release it during the confirmation hearings
