Romney leads "Bipartisan Senate Group" on bill to change electoral college & certification

ROMNEY: “…making sure that election officials are not harassed. Others relate to how elections are certified. Others relate to what the role of VP is in the electoral counting process and how you would deal with an objection to a slate of electors.”
NBC News
Clearly Romney and McConnell have given the green light to take out Trump now at any and all costs otherwise this so-called Bipartisan bill wouldn't even be discussed right now.
"Initial conversations have included Republicans Susan Collins of Maine, Mitt Romney of Utah, Roger Wicker of Mississippi, Thom Tillis of North Carolina and Dan Sullivan of Alaska and Democrats Joe Manchin of West Virginia, Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona and Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire. Sen. Angus King, I-Maine., has also engaged with the group, along with more than a dozen senators.
President Joe Biden told reporters Wednesday that whether or not the Democrats' larger voting bill passes, "I predict to you they’ll get something done on the electoral reform side of this."
Collins said that was a boost to the bipartisan group's efforts. "I was encouraged by the president's comment where he said he thought we could get something done on electoral reform," she said.
And Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., reiterated his support for the effort Thursday.
"I wish them well, and I'd be happy to take a look at what they can come up with," he told reporters.
Blunt, the ranking member of the Rules Committee, said he's on the "periphery" of the group but added that there's lots of Republican interest in a package along the lines it is discussing, positing that "closer to 50 than 10" GOP senators would be open to it.

Here comes the Biden agenda in little chunks

It depends on what they are doing. There are certain things, such as the VP role, that do need to be clarified by congress. If they are just backdooring election reform I'll be pissed.

Romney,"Making sure election officials are not harassed", means after the 3AM election drops, if you question the election you will be up for charges. RINOs suck

I’m so glad I as part of the group who was privileged to have had the opportunity to boo the shite out of him in the airport after he fled DC Jan 7.
He’s a hated a man and I felt no remorse as I called him a traitor to his face.

I honestly don't like the "winner take all" system part of our EC, but that should be decided at the state level. Electoral college votes should be apportioned based on congressional districts with the statewide majority going to the two Senate EV's.

More evidence the fight we're in is American versus globalism, not republican/democrat.

I want to know why a freshman Senator has so much stroke. First term Senators used to simply sit down and shut up until they got seniority. I cannot stand Mitt Romney and wish the worst for his political career.

Romney has been salty for a long time.
His elevator till working?
Not my party.
This is why I stopped supporting the RNC

Yeah the Rinos need to start sounding like Democrats on the Electoral College. Those idiots will do nothing but feed the Democrats talking points and campaign issues. Of course when things are looking good for the GOP, they have to figure out a way to frick it up!

The GOP folks. Please clap.

I want to see what these morons have in store for Article two of the Constitution. To modify or make drastic changes requires an Amendment. Otherwise it would have been changed a long time ago. Good luck

People are just being 9/10 level emotional in this thread.
This bill is just supposed to clean up the language that Q-tards and Patriots™ relied on to think Jan 6 2021 could change anything.
The iron is that if this bill was in place for the 2020 elections, lots of posters on here wouldn't have been swayed by charlatans and their side would actually be much stronger. But many of them have given up and rely almost exclusively on emotional thinking and have developed a martyr complex.
