Houthis Seemingly Launch First Airstrike on Saudi Capital as Smoke Spotted Near Riyadh Airport

quote:

As the Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen escalate their attacks, air raid alerts have been issued for the Saudi capital of Riyadh for the first time.

According to foreign media outlets including the BBC on the 19th (local time), the Saudi General Directorate of Civil Defense issued air raid warnings for several regions, including Riyadh, starting from the night before until the morning of that day.

This marks the first alert issued for Riyadh since the Houthis intensified their attacks and declared a maritime blockade against Saudi Arabia last July.

While reports of explosions continued to pour in from Riyadh, authorities later lifted the alerts and announced that the dangerous situation had ended.

Additionally, Reuters reported, citing witnesses, that flames and a thick plume of black smoke were seen rising near King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh that day.

War Room was showing some vids of the attack earlier this morning, things may be ratcheting up towards a multinational conflict.

The war will expand. This Houthi/Saudi thing goes beyond what we are doing. I know they are related but Iran's proxy is making a move. It is an open act of war. Saudi's territorial integrity is being attacked. Do you think the UAE/Saudi/Kuwaitis have a military force consisting of an standing army and the equivalent of marines? Because they are going to need them or pay for mercenaries to do it for them. I don't think they really know how to fight.

Besides Houthi, Hezbollah and Hamas and the countries that I associate them with,

We are looking at a multi country conflict.

Who is on what side?

I assume the Saudi allies would be:
Jordan
Oman
Qatar
UAE
Kuwait
Iraq?

Iran allies are:
Syria
Yemen (well, the Houthis)
Lebanon (well, the Hez)

Where do Egypt and Pakistan sit?

Its the KSA who should rally threat or bribe a group of nations especially of the middle east and wipe out the Houthis. Aided by the west or anyone else who wants their oil.
Iran is directing them to their own demise.

Saudi has been fighting a war with the Houthis for over 10 years now. They haven’t failed thus far for lack of trying.

Saudi needs to sue for peace and pay handsomely for it. They have the most to lose here as an affluent oligarchy masquerading as a coherent, sovereign nation.

Saudi simply lacks a system of government and society fit to handle any type of war driven deprivations.

The Houthi’s will wreck the Saudi’s if this continues for several more years.

Houthis are al Qaeda + tech.

A 20-year war on terror with Trillions spent, and the end result is motherfrickers riding around in a toyota hillux launching ballistic missiles and destroying oil infrastructure.

Nice job everybody.

Why are the Houthis fighting Saudi Arabia? What’s their beef with them? I’m not that familiar in this conflict beyond I know it’s been ongoing for years

The Saudi’s have enough money to have the best military in the world, let them handle their problems.
