A harmless lovable little fuzz ball. America’s truth detector. The big voice on the right.

I miss him every day at 11:06 Central.

Listening to him was therapeutic. He was always able to size up current events and present in an entertaining way. I miss his calming influence every day. Would give anything to have him back.

He was the GOAT. I used to plan my days around his show. Back when I worked for the Canadians I had his show set up to download onto my work computer. We were gifted new computers and I had to transfer years worth of his shows onto their servers to get it onto the new computer. Well the Canadians noticed it and sent notice to our office manager (also a Rush fan) and she let me know that they had noticed and didn’t appreciate it.

Go get his book that came out around Christmastime. Radio’s greatest of all time.

Here you go, Wednesday.

Rush had a natural voice for radio. What I mean by that is his voice had the right frequency and tone for the human ear. You could literally hear his voice even through a lot of background noise. Not many people are born with that talent. Most peoples' voices are drowned out with a lot of background noise.
That wasn't an accident. A lot of audio processing happens on a (quality) radio production. Compression, limiting, phase shift, etc. But... Rush understood how all that worked and tweaked it.

If you listened closely you could detect different openings. Some slightly sped up. Some with some added phase shift.

After he lost his hearing his voice changed a lot. Over the course of a few weeks/months they worked really hard to make him sound the same.

Regardless of his politics, the technical production of that show was interesting as hell.

I remember that. His cadence and delivery was still flawless even with a change in tone due to his hearing loss. But you are right, Rush paid a lot of attention to show production quality that was taken for granted.

There’s a strong correlation with the world going to shite after Rush announced his cancer diagnosis.

I miss Rush and HATE that the corporate RINOs put Erik Erickson into his timeslot across many of Rush's old stations.

Good point. Maybe, that is another reason I despise Erickson - beyond his Deepstate, Neocon world view - is his whiney, screechy voice.

yuck.

Rush was a fine man - we will be long before seeing his likes again.

Will never forget my first time to hear him - I first heard his name back when I listened to the radio at night and was listenting to "Larry King Show" one night when a caller asked Larry = "what do you think of this new guy - Rush Limbaugh?"
---- King answered => "I don't care for liars." and that was it.

But I did form an instant image of what I thought Rush would look like - sorta like a Jack Elam Old West character = tall, skinny, unkempt, unshaven, with a mean, ugly scrowl on his face.

I searched the radio dial for a few nights, but never found him - but I was looking at midnight. The concept of daytime talk show didn't occur to me.

a few years later, I was on a vacation trip coming out of Canada in Northern Michigan searching for something to listen to on the radio. Came across this voice who was saying things that I had fervently believed in forever. So I kept listening and sure enough at the break, he ID'd himself as Rush Limbaugh!!. This just weeks before the famous 'bake sale.'

Been a devout fan ever since that moment. - but I didn't know what he looked like until he got the TV show - I still thought of him as tall and thin - but didn't picture him with the sour face any more.

I miss that man - we needed him.
R.I.P. Rush

I remember his tv show as well.

Went to a "rush room" occasionally for lunch. There were at least 2 places here that played him - at least for a time.

I have one of his ties that I bought at Gayfers/Dillards way back when.

Enjoyed listening to him and the humorous songs by Paul SHankey(?) and others.

I enjoyed Boortz as well.

I also enjoyed Phil Valentine (RIP).

Now I listen to Andrew Wilkow on Sirius when I can....

Interesting take, considering that democrats got America into WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam and the Civil War. Before you question the Civil War, remember the southerners started the war (confederate troops fired on Ft Sumpter) and then the southern slave owners created the democrat party after the war.

Yep, especially on the '20 election and Jan. 6. They Left would have had to attack him wholesale if he told the whole truth, as usual. I suspect that is why the Good Lord called him in, to miss out on the persecution. Or, to put him in a situation where he had to compromise his own principles.

Throw in his downplaying and mockery of the harm of smoking
