He was voted in to kick out seemingly entrenched Dem Mary Landrieu. It WAS a great thing then, but he was always weak and weird and has shown his true colors. It happens.

Who would you vote for if the senator's runoff election next year comes down to between Cassidy and John Bel Edwards?

This is the singular appointment that I am most concerned with. Anyone that votes against him shouldn't be in office next election cycle.

Cassidy speaks for himself, not the people of Louisiana.

From Grok:

quote:

Senator Bill Cassidy received significant campaign contributions from the pharmaceutical industry. According to various sources: -

In the first half of 2019, pharmaceutical companies contributed approximately $76,000 to his campaign.[](LINK -

From 2019 to 2024, Cassidy received over $700,000 from pharmaceuticals. - In the 2023-2024 election cycle alone, he received $290,375 from Big Pharma. These amounts indicate a considerable level of financial support from the pharmaceutical sector to Senator Cassidy's campaigns over the years.

Idk. But if true, I don’t care. Kennedy is a whack job and Trump upheld his end of their bargain. I’m sure Trump could find a suitable replacement.

yeah, he can easily return to his specialty career he left when he was elected to the US House in 2008

i’m sure nothing at all has changed in the field in the last 16 years, he should be able to walk right into the LSUMC OR on Day One

I hope you're right.

Louisiana has a history of re-electing its U.S. senators.

The only senator from Louisiana who lost a re-election bid in the last 100 years was Mary Landrieu.

Before that you have to go back to 1924 when the incumbent senator was not re-elected.

He probably got it from somewhere. But most people with common sense already knew that Cassidy would vote his party line.

Pre-emptive no, Cassidy has NEVER been a Republican.

He must be working for the pharma companies

I think there will be at least 1 D vote yes for RFK Jr. I think Whitehouse votes for him, and possibly 1 or 2 more.

Also, Cassidy will vote for him
