Does this entire ordeal just make it seem like the UK is a Cuckold state?
I think if a referendum had been held in Hong Kong in 1997 prior to the end of British rule, they'd have remained in the British Empire. Hong Kong was a haven for political dissidents of all stripes.

Ain’t none of us taking on the US military with a home arsenal no matter how unrestricted.
Yeah dude. No shite. Bunch of idiots on this board. Take a history class, idiots.
The US Military fricking steam rolled in Vietnam and Desert Storm and operation Iraqi Freedom. We won those so easy and so quick with no problems.
And it would be even easier in America because of how small and concentrated our population is and how loyal our military is against its own citizens.

You think politicians would stomach high casualties on American soil?

shite I have several former employees and friends in Hong Kong. This is a massive mistake by China as money will flow out of HK and China like never before.

If you pay attention to the disdain the left has for dissenting opinions, the constitution, the way they have characterized any political opposition , the way the media has completely removed any semblance of truth in its “reporting” in favor of supporting leftist narratives, the way social media is an authoritarian arm of the left and how violence has already been stoked by the left ...is it that hard to believe ?

if you think this is why they lost you need to read a history book
There are multiple factors, but don’t dismiss hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of armed people not operating under the articles of traditional warfare.

And the United Nations is silent.....

Is this legit?
The story you linked says this happened hours ago. Why isn’t it anywhere else?

I was in Hong Kong for the turnover in 1997. I knew what a huge monumental mistake the UK was making. 22 years later here we are.

Guerilla warfare beat..US military...Vietnam.
No. It did not. The insurgents, the Vietcong, were beaten, dead, and gone by 1970. The NVA was the enemy from 1968 on and while fighting in small unit tactical groups in all kinds of weird terrain, it was basically conventional war. And, they got their asses kicked every time they poked their heads up from then on until we bailed out on the RVN. Of course, that’s my story based on what I saw and did. There are 2 or 3 million stories over the course of 10+ years by many others.

That plus politically weak stomachs at home.
Which even with the lefts pension for violence they don’t want it on a mass scale.
Plus a civil war is bad for business

You simply have no idea.
Do you think citizens are just going to sit in their homes?
Johnny Drone operator won’t be keen to show up for work when his family is targeted.
Let’s all pray it never happens.
