Hoping to be able to avoid the protesters while there and just enjoy the city.
The BBC report said they were using tear gas in Kowloon, Tsim Sha Tsui. That means Nathan Road. Not good.

Anybody who feels similarly might want to request a sticky for this thread, too, because I'm not exactly the Admins' favorite poster.
Maybe not their favorite, but you do get points for name recognition.

You requested that a fake new story thread be stickied.
The video of the military convoy was taken at the Shenzhen border crossing on the highway from Shenzhen to Hong Kong. They are headed to Hong Kong because the water is on the right. They did not necessarily move the troops into Hong Kong (the city), there is plenty of room in the New Territories to set up a base to work from. This is developing, and not really begun yet.

Yeah this story is fake. No one is reporting this.
Not even the few decent news outlets like OANN, The Hill, etc. are reporting it.
And Bitcoin price is steady. BTC price tells all.

Only “New” developments out of this thread is HK Airport shutting down bc of protestors.... beating of protestors has been happening for weeks.
I can’t imagine that China or HK authorities allow the shut down of the airport to go on long. That severely screws up more than just HK.
Also, you talk about pissing of people that may normally support you. You frick up one of the major international and connecting hubs, you’re gonna piss off a lot of people worldwide. Bad move imo for the protestors.

So the updates in the article with video of protestors being beaten are fake, too?

nobody is disputing the infiltration of the police with Chinese officials and unruly things happening to protestors. What is being disputed is the basis of this thread... that military vehicles were invading HK.

No, the Chinese “invasion” is fake.

The video of the troops moving was taken as they headed into the Hong Kong special economic zone from Shenzhen. The economic zone is not the city, but a much bigger area that covers Hong Kong Island, mainland Hong Kong, and the New Territories.
You can't mistake the location and the direction the convoy was traveling. That they haven't engaged yet does not make the move less significant.
