So you're saying Obama wasn't an African American? Thanks for clearing that up.

Certainly not a typical African-American.

The “central task” of reparations policy is to raise the level of Black assets to a level sufficient to match the average net worth of white Americans, Darity said
Aside from the inherent conceptual stupidity. Darity is gaming his numbers, aka Figures don't lie, but liars figure.

Proceeding as he proposes, and distributing the $14T evenly over Black US households, would elevate the median Black household wealth by ~$850K, raising it to about 5X that of White households.

Darity is basing his population wealth calculations on "average" (~$850K/Hh) instead of "median" (~$180K/Hh) wealth. That's creates a bullshite number, and Darity knows it.

In a room full of functional, thinking people, he'd have been laughed off the stage.

How long would it take the same people to fritter away that 14 trillion and put themselves back in the same wealth gap situation?

Weeks, not months. Or the government could just give out smaller amounts each month, like since 1967.

How do you “repatriate” a person to a continent where he has never lived and from which his most-recent ancestor left ten generations ago?

The same way that a person who has never owned a slave has to pay reparations for someone who has never been a slave.

There was a time reparations were warranted. Immediately after slavery. USG was wrong for not so doing. I don't think many people will disagree with me there.

Now? In 2023? No way to do it without it being a clusterfrick of epic proportions. No one will ever agree on dollar amount or method of distribution, not to mention there will be millions of very fair-skinned people with more legitimate claims than some very dark skinned people.

Woke scolds won't like it one little bit when my mixed kids have a better claim than a dark-skinned immigrant whose family arrived in the US after slavery had been abolished. Por ejemplo

After America elected a Black President, and race baiters were proven wrong it would never happen, they replied, "Well, he's only Half-Black."

The goal posts will always be a moving target when it comes to Race.

Without the tool of pitting one race against another, Groomers really have nothing else to work with. Seriously, that is how they rule.

Not surprised. The communists failed to enact communism on its own merits. So they have settled on cloaking it in terms of “racial Justice.” Its working well for them because most people are very dumb

The wealth gap doesn’t have anything to do with slavery or systemic racism, it instead is related to marriage and family

In the black community only 25% of black women will ever get married and 80% of black children are born to single moms

You can’t build wealth if you don’t build nuclear families

If you look at any racial demographic in the us you will find that the groups who marry and don’t divorce do the best

Obama is mixed.

Like my own kids.

He just leaned into the black part of his lineage for identity politics purposes.
