2% of 11% of the black population committing over 50% of the violent crime in our country is what is stopping them from doing the former.

Only if it comes with a requirement to pack their bags and go home. Go create the Wakanda you want. Buh bye.

Don't take it, welcome to our society. Take it, go start your own.

This has to be a line we can’t let be crossed. Myself, my children, my future grand children had nothing to do with slavery and should not be punished for what people did 150 years ago.

I agree it’s a line that can’t get crossed but it wasn’t simply 150+ years ago. The Civil Rights Act wasn’t signed until 1964 and that’s only a generation or two away. There are people alive impacted.

So let them sue the entities that impacted them. Sue the people who passed laws that impacted them, corporations that did things to them, individuals. I didn’t do anything to them. I wasn’t even alive. My now working/tax paying kids were born 40 years after the CRA was passed, why should they pay?

$14 trillion
Who’s going to pay for it? Will illegals hat just arrived have to pay? What about people who’s family came here after 1865? Will they have to pay? What about mixed-race people. Will they pay only a percentage?

Revenge politics is disgusting and repulsive.

I wasn’t even alive in 1964. I didn’t “impact” anyone.

I mean I think pretty much everyone wants to see black Americans improve their lot in life

If any group or even individual improves it works for the betterment of society overall

I don't think reparations is the answer to the things that plague certain segments of black Americans

Deducting the present value of the 600000 lives lost in gaining their freedom, plus the trillions already paid since 1965. I suspect they're in the red.

I'll take mine in small bills, please.

Maybe they should take it from anyone who voted Democrat prior to 1964? Take their SS.

People getting a payout typically fall over themselves pumping that money right back into the economy.

Literally just wealth distribution. If something like this ever actually DOES seem like it will happen, invest everything you have, because the money will go right back into corporate hands - 95% of it will be spent on consumer goods, and investors will ride a tidal wave of profits.

I've said this before. I don’t mind reparations as long as we get a refundable credit for the obscene and absurd disproportionate amount of welfare, food, stamps, and other government assistance given to Black people over the last 55 years since the advent of the Democrats great society.

I'd also want a refundable credit for the absurdly disproportional amount of black-on-white crime that has been committed over the last 55 years. Add to that, the cost to incarcerate all of these black criminals over the last 55 years.

When all the math is done, just let me know where, as a white man, I can go pick up my check.

Is there a bill or something proposed to actually distribute reparations? Why is this even being discussed? Seems like unwarranted pearl clutching.

Sure. Just print it up like they always do. It's just paper.
