Remember when the media and liberals told us that Europe was laughing at the USA?

Europe has recorded a sharp rise in the number of new Covid-19 infections in recent weeks, reflecting an alarming trend as the World Health Organization warns "no country can just pretend the pandemic is over." The number of new coronavirus cases reported across the region increased by 5.6% to a total of just over 4 million cases in the week ending August 23, according to data compiled by the WHO.

Western Europe surpassed the U.S. in new daily Covid-19 infections, re-emerging as a global hot spot after bringing the pandemic under control earlier in the summer. The 27 countries in the European Union plus the U.K., Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein recorded 27,233 new cases on Wednesday, compared with 26,015 for the U.S. That follows several weeks of resurgent infections in Spain, France and other countries across the continent.

Europe’s move ahead of the U.S. is a major setback for a part of the world that seemed to have gotten a grip on the coronavirus after the pandemic spread from China to Italy and other countries across the region last winter.
Well it seems that once again liberals and the media jumped the gun on saying that the USA was failing in our response to covid. I guess those stricter measures and suspension of freedoms didn’t work so well after-all.

The U.S. economy picked up momentum this month as companies shook off the effects of the pandemic-induced downturn, though recoveries in other parts of the world slowed, according to new surveys of purchasing managers.
However they did make their economic recovery suffer. I have talked to friends in Europe and Russia and they all say that their fiscal problems and loss of freedom was way more concerning than the virus.
I still think it’s stupid to compare the response of countries, but I never miss a chance to laugh at liberals and the media.

Trump’s fault.
Let’s get longway and TigerDoc in this thread. They have a lot of good advice on battling the virus.

Yeah but congressional Dim Tim Ryan was asked by the Fox News babe this morning what did the Dims and Joe Biden do you help America prepare for the impending that pandemic? Ryan told the news babe it wasn’t the Dims responsibility to help Trump prepare for the pandemic. If Trump’s wants to be president he needs to figure these things out for himself, don’t blame us Dims.
That’s pretty much what Ryan said...unbelievable.

This virus is impossible to stop once it’s breached your borders without going full China. The only other option is to live your life and take precautions as necessary

According to longway’s post, I just assumed that we were all dead from COVID and simply posting on TD from Heaven.

I'm sure the Turtle will find an extra trillion or so in the couch cushions to send to Europe in the post-election Covid relief bill.

population of the EU, UK, and Norway = 517 million
population of the US = 328 million
189 million more people.
1,218 more cases
(EU = 446M, UK = 66M, Norway = 5M)

Still cheaper than Pelosi's.

It's deserved, because it was such a staunch liberal talking point that Europe had all but stamped this out so much more effectively than the US. It was all BS, but the numbers were such that there wasn't a truly effective rebuttal using straight facts. Now there are. Anyone paying attention knew they would have a resurgence as soon as they started reopening anything.
I'll reiterate what I've said on multiple boards since March. You can't hide from this thing, especially on a national level. It's going to do what viruses do, even if we put our economies back into the Stone Age with a 90 day military lockdown. Period. The media won't cover it, but pretty soon everyone will realize that the US is now far ahead of the rest of the world in being done with this crap. Especially once India blows past us in every metric over the next month.

If I were in charge, I would’ve isolated those at greater risk and everyone else live life as normal. No shutdowns.
We would already be talking about Covid in the past tense.

France alone clocked in with almost 11k cases today and are still in the early stages of their latest spike. In a country of 67 million people. That's roughly equivalent to the US reporting 55k cases in a day. Let that sink in.

Well Mr. 6 posts, their cases are rising, ours aren't
WHere do all you fricking 6 post assholes spewing this shite come from?

Wash your hands, social distance when possible, take plenty of vitamin C, D with zinc, get plenty of rest, carry on with your lives.

That was the way to do it once we knew who the at risk were, but check the Universal post on the mentality once the media spent all of March scaring the hell out of everyone. Especially now that we know everyone living their lives normally from December through February were at risk of being exposed.
My office when I'm traveling for work is 5 miles from the Kirkland, WA nursing home that was the first big outbreak in the US. I flew weekly into Seattle unprotected until March 6. Still living, and given my flight times coincided with arrival and departure schedules of the flights going to / from Asia, I was seriously at risk of being infected in the early stages. Haven't bothered to find out if I had it when I was sick with the symptoms in February.
