It's almost as if many people tried to benefit off the 2016-19 stretch by pretending to be on board ... and then switched gears as part of a career shift/new revenue plan (see: former cable newscasters turned podcasters, etc.)

This is an extremely slippery slope. Mishandling classified information is done on the reg in DC and the most common offenders are actually members of congress. To some degree, the mistrust of the IC by congress...and I'm only speaking about the feelings of Congress towards the IC...not all of the national security experts on this board...stems from the IC withholding information that congress feels it should know. Trouble is that once congress knows, its typically a matter of hours before the rest of the world knows.
