Nothing. Simply an appeal to emotion and trying to build an aura of legitimacy around her.

Did she do something calculated there or did they get her for just having folks around the machines when they weren’t supposed to be?

she sent an email requiring security cameras monitoring voting machines in the mesa county clerk's office be disabled, then let q kook conan hayes copy data from mesa county voting machines, got him access with a fake id. then somehow ron watkins published them on 8 chan, and it was easy to trace the passwords used back to the documents. she ran to mike lindell for cover
she should rot in jail every day of her sentence.

Do you even think about what you’re saying? How can data tabulations from an election meet the definition of “confidential data”? Our elections are supposed to be open and so are the results. This information is a matter of public record.

It was on a private network, for one, that required access. How did they access it? Fraud

quote:

Peters is accused of stealing Wood’s identity. According to court testimony, she asked him if he’d be interested in performing IT duties in the elections office, for which he’d need a county access badge to enter secured areas. Wood works for a security company as a software engineer, and he testified he was always open to side work.

Acquisition of an access badge “was an unusual request,” testified Brenda Moore, who was Mesa County human resources director in 2021. “He was not on the payroll. He was not being paid.”

However, Wood was provided a county access badge in mid-May, and a few days later Peters asked for the badge back. Wood testified that he was never called in for work, and never saw the badge again.

And would you consider passwords to that network confidential?

quote:

In August 2021, Wood was attending a “cyber symposium” led by MyPillow CEO and prominent conspiracy theorist Mike Lindell in South Dakota. While there he learned he had been named by Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold as the suspect who took images of Mesa County election machine passwords and posted them online. His access badge had been used to enter the secure elections area.

This was also fully premediated.

quote:

Bantz also testified that while there wasn’t a law at the time that required security surveillance cameras be left on at all times at the elections office, it had been Mesa County’s policy for years to leave the cameras on. Prosecutors noted that Peters asked her deputy clerk, Belinda Knisley, who agreed to testify against Peters in a plea agreement, to turn off the security cameras prior to the software update later that month.

Peters was a victim of the charlatans like Pillow guy who got caught up in emotions and mob mentality of the moment of "the steal". They told her she'd be a hero.

quote:

Mesa County Elections Director Brandi Bantz testified that, prior to the May 2021 security breach, she was uncomfortable while attending a meeting at the elections office on April 23 of that year. The meeting was attended by Peters, Bantz, elections administrator Stephanie Wenholz, backend elections manager Sandra Brown, and Sherronna Bishop, Peters’ friend and a former campaign manager for U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert. Also in the meeting was election denier Douglas Frank, an Ohio math teacher on the payroll of Lindell.

Bantz told jurors that those attending the meeting discussed various theories such as voter fraud and how they could prove fraud, and voter registration inflation. Wenholz secretly recorded the meeting. An apparently male voice can be heard telling Peters, “It’s a feather in your cap if you can say you discovered corruption in the county and you cleaned it up.”

quote:

Our elections are supposed to be open and so are the results.

The results were open. This was something else.

quote:

This information is a matter of public record.

I bet I can go to the Colorado Secretary of State and get the voting data for the 2020 election. Bet?

Also, Pillow man could not prove anything with this illegally-obtained data. She threw her life away and became a felon for literally nothing.

99% of what you posted is totally legal. Possibly providing access to a third party could violate a computer crimes statute. Certainly not a crime warranting a decade in prison for a first time offender. I’d expect passwords are changed after every election. And again, the underlying data is public record.

From the DOJ’s filing in the federal habeas case:
quote:

Ms. Peters is currently incarcerated while pursuing a direct appeal of her underlying nonviolent convictions and combined nine-year sentence. The Application explains that Ms. Peters suffers from serious health issues and that, while incarcerated, her physical and mental health have deteriorated. Reasonable concerns have been raised about various aspects of Ms. Peters’ case. These concerns relate to, among other things, the exceptionally lengthy sentence imposed relative to the conduct at issue, the First Amendment implications of the trial court’s October 2024 assertions relating to Ms. Peters, and whether Colorado’s denial of bail pending appeal was arbitrary or unreasonable under the Eighth and Fourteenth Amendments such that
§ 2254 relief is appropriate.

Accordingly, the United States respectfully submits that the
concerns raised in the Application warrant—at the very least—prompt and careful consideration
by this Court (and, at the appropriate time, the Colorado appellate courts).
Parallel to these proceedings and Ms. Peters’ direct appeal, the Department of Justice is
reviewing cases across the nation for abuses of the criminal justice process. See Attorney
General Memorandum, Restoring the Integrity and Credibility of The Department of Justice
(February 5, 2025). This review will include an evaluation of the State of Colorado’s
prosecution of Ms. Peters and, in particular, whether the case was “oriented more toward
inflicting political pain than toward pursuing actual justice or legitimate governmental
objectives.” Executive Order 14147, Ending the Weaponization of The Federal Government
(Jan. 20, 2025).

Why are you ignoring using fraudulent credentials to access the system? You think that's legal behavior?

Wait, this is a pretty cut and dry case. Why would y’all support her release when she ACTUALLY did the crimes she was convicted of? She’s a piece of shite that deserves to rot. Exactly the type of person y’all would normally abhor.
