Thesesalonians says it's when he sits down in the temple as God. Alternatively, he will broker a huge peace deal in Israel to set up the temple and come to their aid due to an invasion from the north.

The antichrist will literally be seen as a persona on par with Jesus Christ. People with be amazed at his ability to seemingly bring peace to the world, will be fully charismatic to the masses, most likely easy on the eyes and probably will be out of the middle east or of middle eastern heritage. Zelensky is a putz.

Southern Baptist?
My oldest brother who joined a Southern Baptist church called me last week, btw he was raised Catholic and all our family are still Catholics, and asked me if I though Zelensky was the Anti-Christ.
I laughed at him and asked him why he would ask me that? He told me his pastor told him that in church the last Sunday at church.
Sorry, I don't buy it!

There are those who say that Nero Caesar was the anti Christ. Something to do with that his name transliterated into Hebrew added up to the number 666.
There are other significant meanings to the number 666.
See 1 Kings 10:14 as Solomon collected 666 talents of Gold. Solomon slowly went from being like Christ to be an anti-Christ.
Personally, I don't think Revelation is saying there is one Anti-Christ and it will be clear who it is, rather it is more symbolic and speaks about Man's fallen state. There are plenty of people who oppose Christ in our world. Could they all be similar to the Anti-Christ?

Well, you could say the same about his response to Jesus. He would have been better off leaving Him alone and to live a long life and die quietly. We underestimate his rage, imv.

So squid_hunt, it could be Trump. He brokered a historic Israel deal with much of the Middle East. If elected again there maybe an opportunity for him to defend Israel from the north. (Turkey, Russia, Syria, Iraq, etc)
Of course I jest.
Seeing the deception occuring through govts, media, social media, about things that seem obvious, it will be worldwide chorus of support based on deception that all are blinded to.
To the wise and the good, it will be obvious and they will be locked out of the conversation as we have seen in the last 2 years. Just think of Covid and things that were obvious to many about what was going on but were ridiculed, canceled, etc.

This did occur to me, but most people believe it has to be a Jew. I wondered for a bit if Trump was the man on the white horse from the first seal. Of course, now uou could see that as Putin. The next seal to break would be the red horse, war. Is it? I don't know. Maybe.
But I agree that Trump has the mentality and temperment I have always imagined for the first half of that prophesy. I can't see him slaughtering millions of Jews, though.

The Antichrist will be well liked and charismatic. No one on the world stage meets that criteria. Besides, the Tribulation took place in the late 60-70 CE.
