I don’t think we will have a clear picture of what is happening for a long time

Most people still don't have a clear picture of what really happened in a war from over 75 years ago. They just chow down on the narrative that has been force fed to all the mindless sheep, by the 'victors', over the years and regurgitate it for the other sheep. Anyone who speaks out, with hard evidence, against the narrative gets quickly shut down by being tagged as far-right zealots, anti-semite, etc.

Russia is getting its arse kicked by Ukraine. Russia should have rolled over the Ukrainian army but they have not and they have not even started the process of trying to clear out the cities. There are over 1,000,000 armed Ukraine citizens in Kyiv alone. Russia has less than 200,000 troops to bear. If the west keeps supplying Ukraine with antitank and anti aircraft weapons which will keep Russia from using its air force effectively the Russians are going to get slaughtered in house to house combat. Russia citizens are already against the war, how do think they will react to thousands of troops coming home in caskets?

Yeah you can’t really trust any US news coverage of rival countries, especially during times of war as they all are essentially arms of our state department.

Especially Ukraine. It has been the U.S. state department playground since before 2014.

Russia may have more troops and weaponry overall but Russia has to be spread throughout their country. They cannot pull everything to their western flank and exposing their East and south. Ukraine is fighting for its very existence and has everything focused. Negating the nuke factor the battlefront may not be as one sided and some want to paint it.

So which is it...the Ukrainians are winning...OR as they’re saying “Ukrainians need supplies, they don’t have a month”. From the way it’s being reported, you’d think Russians are dying by the thousands daily. So which is it? Who’s truly winning??

I’m rooting for Ukraine as much as anyone but this is a pretty terrible take. It’s clear that Russia isn’t trying to clear city centers at all. They’re going around populated areas as much as possible. Kiev is nearly completely surrounded, same with Kharkiv. The push from the south is moving really well. Anyone who is saying things are going for Ukraine is completely out of touch with reality. It’s only been a few days and some of y’all are acting like this should’ve been over as fast as a two hour war movie.

Exactly, Putin could just be starving then out. Surround the major cities and starve them all out. Sooner or later, they’ll surrender. That’s a strategy that our stupid media isn’t even considering.

I was surprised by that. On the fairly safe assumption the Russian weight of arms finally gains the complete upper hand.

It appears that Zelensky has decided to stay with his men. That is one of the reasons why they are fighting so hard.

I would seen the smart play as setting up a government in exile. Perhaps in Poland where NATO arms would protect him. From then on a resistance movement would be set up similar to the resistance of the French which was supported from a secure base in the UK where their government in exile was located

You obviously don’t understand the Ukrainian people. If he flees then the Ukrainian citizens will stop fighting. He got elected with 70% of the vote because he had the balls to tell the truth and call out the corruption of the Poroshenko regime. The Ukrainian people respected him for that. They definitely respect him willing to fight and die in Kyiv and not run. If he gets killed then he will be a hero to over 40 million people. The Russians would never be able to put down that insurgents.

Plus the Ukrainian PM (the next in line) can always flee and set up a government in exile.

Good points. I was thinking along the lines of Hitler in April 1945, but Stalin in November 1941 might be a better comparison.

Nevertheless, for Ukraine to remain independent, a guerrilla war will probably be necessary.

I would think the fact that the Russians have not taken any major city is because they are by-passing the major cities purposefully, with the exception of the capital, of course

Correct...he wants control of the country but not a total waste land that he would have to maintain IMO.

Yes everyone has pretty much known that from the start and what better way to inspire that insurgency than giving his country their greatest matryr. Zelensky has balls of steel.

Hell with Biden shutting down the keystone pipeline and now our reliance on Russian oil, we are helping to fund them...but of course, we are saving the environment!
