I got the same message from them about 20 minutes ago. Here’s what I said:
“No thanks! LSU has gone too far left for me. They need to go back to teaching reading, writing, and arithmetic. Not all this Black Lives Matter, gender studies, and other such nonsense.”

Should I:
1) ignore it;
2) tell them to frick off and never contact me again;
3) tell them to get back to me after they have returned Middleton's property to his family and put his name back on the Library?
"You may have donations from me when you've stopped pandering to Critical Race Theory proponents and BLM/ANTIFA supporters and apologists but not a moment before."

Since LSU professed to be a racist institution and was going to change their ways, I would tell them you won’t donate until you see real evidence that they had changed their ways and would no longer consider race when reviewing applicants, funding programs and that they would no longer favor one race over another.

It doesn't matter. They will be just like these leftist cities that have been run by blacks for decades---they will simply look to the state and feds for money if they have shortfalls.
There is no accountability in these bureaucracies---poor management does not slow them down so long as they can arose support from other governments.

The only way to end the BS is to privatize student loans again. Cut off the federal money teat.

Received the same text from LSU Foundation.
I deleted the text.

First, I am not an LSU alumnus, so my feelings are only as important in this matter as you'd grant a lifelong fan who was also by definition a booster and football season ticket holder from 2001 through the 2019 season. I had already paid for 2020 and then the pandemic/race wars happened and I asked for a refund and to cancel my tickets.
That said, I wholly agree that this is what did it for me.
The other stuff happened after I'd already moved on.
Depends what your ultimate goal is is acting. Mine was never to get them to admit fault, apologize or change. I'm not "boycotting" LSU. they've become something I no longer recognize and no longer find fun or a worthwhile place to spend my time or money. So, short of some unabashed heartfelt apology complete with a 180 degree turn back to where things had been (which is not going to happen) we have just gone in separate directions.
But, if you still want to be associated with LSU and there is something they could do to win you back, then tell them that. If not, tell them that as well. I'd not ignore them, though... When I cancelled my tickets, I was explicit in why.
That said, I wholly agree that this is what did it for me.

In my eyes, LSU committed suicide when it: a) put up the high school colors of an overdosing felon who died while resisting arrest on the stadium lights; b) put "Black Lives Matter" up on the videoboards and kept it there even when its Marxist connections were pointed out; c) took Troy Middleton's name off the library;

While I have two degrees from LSU, it is clear that the philosophy and values of the school no longer match with my own. Rather than foster a free and open exchange of all ideas and viewpoints in an environment that respects a rich and honorable institutional history; instead, LSU has devolved into a school (it no longer merits the term university) that is openly hostile to any student or faculty member that does not toe the woke party line with a new President that adheres to (and has promoted) a philosophy that preaches that I, my wife, and my children are inherently racists and oppressors by nature. Therefore, as it is clear the school does not want to be associated with "people like me" and my "ilk," I will not be donating any money. Thank you.

TAF is feeling the pinch, too. I can't speak to a decline in membership but, through a friend /former member, financial donations are down & continuing to decline.

Some poor girl from EJ Ourso called me last year and got the business. I told them I was pulling out of all contributions to LSU including athletics. I’ll watch our games on TV so if you want to count that as contribution then fine but I’m not directly handing them another dollar. Frankly, if we ever develop minor league football, I’ll be done with LSU completely.

From BR Business Report this afternoon
quote:
LSU’s sports programs lost a combined $81 million in revenue during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the school cannot use federal aid funds to reduce that deficit. The athletics department has offset some of the losses through salary reductions and job cuts, according to Manship School News Service. It has received $23 million in relief money from the Southeastern Conference, and it has tapped reserve funds from profitable years to try to close the rest of the gap.
It also is counting on its private fundraising arm, the Tiger Athletic Foundation, to keep bringing in major donations. The foundation just hired a new leader, Matt Borman, who had led athletic fundraising at the University of Georgia.

How is it a problem...
Money should be going to widows and downtrodden...not some govern...mental institution that denies people based on race.

This. I have been contacted by alumni association * (different SEC school), and I told them I would not contribute, and why. Money talks.

Are you okay with this? I’m not, hence no donations.

When they hear this from thousands of alumni, they will try to lie about it.
