The best part is, as a progressive you are too stupid to understand the very basic economic implications of this statement.

As a liberal I do understand the ramifications and realize it's only a matter of time before we have less work to do than people that we want to work.

This maybe the first industrial revolution where we actually reduce jobs. Although some are skeptical of that still...

That’s 40k a year for a job that was never intended to be a family supporting career goal.

And as cost of living skyrockets (even by Cali standards) 40K will be well inside poverty level

McDonald's needs to go fully automated. McDonalds by me is shite. Mainly because of the customer service of the employees is abysmal. Any time you go in there, most of the employees are just joking with each other and ignoring all customers.

I noticed last week that my local McD’s assigns 1 employee to the tiny dining area, 1 to outside trash, and no one to the in store counter during dinner rush.

Double drive through lines for a single cook, dedicated fryer, dedicated bagger, and dedicated window person each window. The bagger would place the order for the few walk-ins who would just whip out the phone app to order. (Yea they screwed the pooch on my order, took about an hour till the end of the rush to fix it)

Keep expectations low for general public, way low. You will rarely be disappointed.

Chaos… all hourly wages will have to rise to compete for bodies. Price of everything goes up, lots of businesses close, automation takes over…

…and then ultimately more people will be put on a “living wage” and an ever increased class of voters ultimately dependent on Big Govt.

They are unfortunately too devious and smart to simply be this incompetent so you’d have to say things are evolving just as the Socialists are planning.

Pushing up the minimum wage does nothing but speed that up as it puts automation in a cost tier lower than hiring actual workers. To put it in other terms, pushing minimum wage that high for fast food will be far more of a benefit to fast food owners and executives than to counter-level employees.

So a husband and wife in California can work at McDonald’s full time and have a combined income of 80k+. Good luck with your affordable apartment search.

More like "good luck finding a job at a McDonald's" since the majority of the work will transition to automation.

Next step is the government either forcing food trucks completely out of cities, so that they don’t put fast food out of business, or raising the taxes on them to get more of their income via direct taxes or various permits.

This is such an idiotic take.

Where will people work? You’ve got millions of illegals pouring in. Teenagers won’t get hired so they go to sex work and drugs.

You fricking liberals don’t understand you are not compassionate. But fricking evil.
