You may be right about initially ....but mean tweets certainly beats illiterate socialism any time of the week hands down. I'm a Vivek fan ....but right now, more of a Trump fan because I understand what he's trying to accomplish......Vivek is far more right of center than Trump. The competition far more destructive of the country and Constitution. Vivek understands defeating competitors. Trump developed under his own banner ....Trump doesn't have the killer instinct that Vivek has .....Desantis ....not in the ball park ...Hailey? Left of the center in the pairing ....Establishment minded ....We want Mitch McConnell gone and Mittens forgotten ...

Vivek hasn't endured any substantive test. Whereas DeSantis has fought the battles substantively and won while not being able to execute the showmanship part, Vivek is the opposite. He's smooth and fast on his feet in rhetoric and hasn't ever accomplished a single thing for the ideology he claims.

I'll be really interesting to see what Vivek does for the next four years if he's not part of Trumpworld. Scoring some tangible wins would seemingly quiet doubters ahead of another run. But I think some, myself included, will always be a little uneasy about a guy who hasn't really run anything of use to the right and only wants to compete for the top prize.

2? It’s not surprising the average American wants sizzle over substance.

Will still vote for him in the Florida primary as he’s the best candidate IMO but will also be happy that he’s our governor for a few more years (especially if Dems win the White House again).

Will still vote for trump over Biden or whoever they swap him with.

He may not be interested, but it seems he could easily become the governor of Ohio in 2026 and work the 2028 route of quick accomplishments during his time as governor.

quote:

The 2026 Ohio gubernatorial election is scheduled to take place on November 3, 2026, to elect the governor of Ohio. Incumbent Republican Governor Mike DeWine is term-limited and ineligible to seek a third consecutive term.

But, he just may also milk his brand/following and become some type of political influencer on a major network like Tucker.

I hope some Desantis supporters are willing to honestly answer a question.

1.

I do not underestimate the grip Trump has on the Republican party. More than even the most devoted Trump superfan, I recognize him as the unrivaled leader of the Republican party since he won the nomination in 2016.

1 - I love Trump and DeSantis, I just think DeSantis would be better at accomplishing his agenda. But ill gladly support the Don. Either will get overraction retardation from the comminists on the left.

Vivek will be less impactful on the Republican Party in the long-term than Steve Forbes.

He won 98 of the 99 counties . What are you talking about ? How is that 50 percent against him?

Cult45 math.

I'd probably prefer he run for some lower office, but there will be plenty of opportunities.

Personally, my metric will be whether he builds something or simply talks. The latter has some value, but given his absence of substantive record that's what I'd personally look for. But that can be anything - play a major backing role in some conservative start ups, be huge and active in right-minded philanthropy, etc.

Disregarding my personal opinions of Vivek, adding Vivek to the ticket does nothing for Trump. It's a stupid move, strategically. What does Trump gain with Vivek? It's the same supporters. Vivek did everthing short of wearing a Trump wig to imitate Trump.

Trump has to find someone that he can get more votes from. Not just appease the sycophants.

FWIW, no one on the ballot for primary gets him anywhere. He has to go outside the debate stage to find a running mate if he wants to gain votes in the general.

Vivek would honestly overshadow Trump on a policy basis. Trump isn’t adding someone who might detract from the limelight. It’s going to be another milquetoaster.

I think it’s a good sign she didn’t get second. She basically got democrat voters. She’s not convincing republicans.

Articulate clear points and agenda? Maybe help him not fall into the same hiring traps as last time?

This logic makes you think that in a 2 person race Desantis would have gotten the other 50%....It doesn't work that way. maybe 8-10% more vote for Trump. Maybe 25K fewer people vote.

I’m a 1.
Also a transplant to Iowa from the south, was planning to go to the caucus, but due to the sub-zero temps, stayed home. MIGHT have gone if the race were closer.
Also, once Trump wins the nomination, I will fully support him with my vote.

I was in a bar to watch some NFL games and someone asked me which team I was rooting for and I said the Saints and the person stated “why? they never win”

Certain people only want to be associated with who they think will win, they WANT to see the poll numbers before they tell you who they support. “Fairweather fans” & types that support a player over a team (LeBron vs Cleveland)

Think of it like a brand name, they suddenly all need to wear the same brand because it’s cool or trending. (Juvenile minds)

These are typically lower IQ individuals who through animal adaptation mixed in with natural selection trend to backing “the favorite”.

Historically, if you’re backed the wrong guy, you could lose your head….so “who will win?”

I say this to note that if there’s a shift and another candidate narrows the gap, the “who will win?” becomes more debatable and instinct based people shift loyalties.
