Did he actually say that himself or maybe some other foreign government is putting words in his mouth……as an excuse to join this war??

A USA Today opinion piece. Surely you trust USA Today?
There is no proof that involved, concerned parents are a dangerous threat to school boards If the Biden administration gives irate administrators an attack dog in the FBI, parents will stop participating and distrust the school even more.
There is no proof that involved, concerned parents are a dangerous threat to school boards If the Biden administration gives irate administrators an attack dog in the FBI, parents will stop participating and distrust the school even more.
quote:
President Joe Biden’s top law enforcement official has made a mountain out a molehill, and as a result, school administrators may threaten parents who are speaking up on behalf of their children. On Monday, Attorney General Merrick Garland released a memorandum describing how the Federal Bureau of Investigation will coordinate with law enforcement agencies across the country to address threats to school administrators and school board members.
quote:
One can find evidence in a Sept. 29 letter from the National School Board Association to Biden documenting “heinous actions” that “could be the equivalent to a form of domestic terrorism and hate crimes.”
quote:
If one reads the letter, one finds people clearly raising their voices, which is normal when people are discussing things that matter to them. When parents or community members cross the line into threats, local law enforcement has handled the situation. There is no quantitative data in the letter; instead, there are a bunch of disparate stories strung together to make it look like there is a pattern.
quote:
For example, the letter reports that in two school board meetings, “an individual yelled a Nazi salute in protest to masking requirements” and another person “prompted the board to call a recess because of opposition to critical race theory.” These acts are disruptive and inappropriate, but democracy is not a graduate school seminar, and parents are allowed to express themselves to elected school board members. Schools should want parents invested in the well-being of their children.
quote:
Without more evidence of real threats, Biden’s political appointee appears to be making a political decision rather than a prudent one.

That’s right libertarian.
Righty authoritarian is fascism.
Left libertarian is anarchism
Left authoritarian is communism.

99.9% nothing.

OP you need to word the title better.
Most autocratic nations require elimination of the dissident liberal/global minded factions that undermine them. US has been able to get away with it for some time when country was homogeneous- democracy works in a homogeneous state, albeit with a brutal civil war and now teetering on a brink of implosion. Russian autocratic style rule has been in place for over 800 years, it has been re-vamped, then imploded during USSR area(albeit instead of Czar it was just a communist dictator figures), then revamped again. It's what the country gravitates to.

What's worse?
A president who wants to purify his country (if he said that).
OR
A president who mandated a vaxx that has killed people and who has an open border policy (anti-American).

sounds anything like limited centralized government?
as far as the US characterizes far left or far right....fascism is 100% far left. i dont give a frick what the original italian fascist described it as.
in the us...big centralized government with centralized control of the economy protecting extremely large businesses and the ultra wealthy why supressing rights....is absolutely left wing on the US scale.
on the political compass map i consider anyone and anything in the upper half to be a leftest. i dont care if you supposedly support conservative views...any form of authortarism is left wing.

What part of “authoritarian right” do you think stands for limited Centralized Government?
Not all right wing beliefs are Libertarian.
Not all left wing beliefs are authoritarian.
Fascist push nationalism and traditional values.
That’s no 100% left.
Ask BMW how private business did in Nazi Germany.

Doesn't seem that crazy to me. He knows he doesn't have much time at his age, so he's shoring up the direction away from the West. While it may seem spontaneous, I doubt he and his cabinet didn't know what would be coming from this invasion. It's a way for him to expel Western disinformation, eliminate dissidents, take oligarch's and foreign assets and basically give it back to the people since he and his circle are so sanctioned they don't have means to enjoy this money outside of Russia. They might as well government seize what was robbed in the 90s post USSR collapse and look like patriots while doing so.
It's a bold strategy, Cotton. Let's see if it pays off.
PS. Zelensky is the new Michael Avenatti/Andrew Cuomo of the lib media. They'll praise him for now, then if he implodes, they'll shrug and move on.

Doesn’t sound too far from what the Left is doing here..

I watched the speech.
He’s talking about Russians who have adopted western culture in the belief it makes them superior to normal Russians. These people are effectively self hating Russians.
It’s analogous to how the Democrats use to venerate everything European as better. And considered anything American as worse.

Absolutely not. Libertarianism is pure childishness and naïveté. I’m not saying those are bad things, I’m saying that libertarianism is not a serious political philosophy.

False, and frankly amazingly ignorant. Do you think monarchies are left wing?

He is pursuing a Russia first goal.
Any national leader who does not put their nation's interest first is a bad leader.
That doesn't mean I think he is going about it in the best ways, but I believe that he believes he is doing what is best for his country. It looks like he will end up damaging it severely for years.

There is nothing about Putin's Russia that any normal person should admire.
And yet you support a government that holds political prisoners right here in the US.

Personally, if I visit France I would like to see French customs and cafes and French people. NOT Iranians or Africans. Each country should work with each other but stay homogeneous in their culture. What a wonderful world it would truly be.

No, they just threaten them with their livelihood, storm their homes for protesting at school board meetings, and keep them in prison without charges for taking selfies at the Capitol.
