Purple Alabama? No. But, Doug Jones got 48% (!) of the vote. The rigged House seat lost.

Doug Jones lost to the same person (Tubbs) by 24 points in their last round. The rigged House backfired bigly.
With those results, even Alabama looks purple this morning - though it obviously isn’t. Neither is Texas. Neither is Mississippi.
It’s hard to believe this election could have been worse for Republicans - but it absolutely could have been.

If the retards that make up the GOP in Alabama hadn't fricked up and put Roy Moore in the ballot in 2017, no one today would know who this guy is.

Several millions of people people DID NOT VOTE. It’s so bad and people hate Trump so much that no one gave AF about any conservative on the ballet. He put money into Florida obviously as Republicans swept Florida but said frick you to the rest. Honestly, frick him. He had EVERY OPPORTUNITY to make a change and he sold us out worst than any President I can remember.

Yep. He didn’t care - it’s all about him. Not us. Always has been.

Also, just TWO years ago, Trump won 62% - 37% (!!!!)

Well, it is the Austin of Alabama, so that tracks.

Tuberville was an awful candidate. Other than grandstand over military appointments, he was basically non-existent as a Senator and then abandoned ship. He barely campaigned at all, refused to debate and dodged continual questions about his residency and past business dealings. His entire list of issues seemed to be "I'll hire more state troopers" and he came out early as a vocal supporter of more data centers, an unpopular issue in the state.
I suspect a strong primary candidate next go'round.

They've been gradually flipped by all the dim civil service pukes being shipped in there.

Dont hold your breath. The state GOP is a joke.
They havent had a real primary since before Ivey was installed. Who did the love Gov beat in his primary? Ivey never got any pushback despite being the female equivalent of sleepy Joe.

I agree. However it started when Trump tapped Sessions as AG who turned out to be a bust for Trump. I blame Gov. MeeMaw for screwing that special election up.

Why? Being an incumbent R in Alabama has mostly been an ironclad certainty for re-election. The Alabama GOP is lazy as hell and their voters let it slide every time

Redistricing backfired all over the map. Good on Figures for not going woe is me and putting in the work to win.

Republicans don’t debate here either.
Much like Texas didn’t.
Hmm. See how that works?

Most Alabama republicans are giant pussies
ETA: John Wahl did debate Ensler, so props to him. Maybe calling them pussies is extreme, but standing up and debating your opponent and presenting and defending your platform and record should be one of the very least things we expect from our leaders, and it’s lame the majority of the state GOP won’t do it.

You're probably right, but the data center issue - for example - is interesting. It's not popular with a lot of traditionally republican voters and Tuberville is all in on it. He's also, personally, not a well liked individual and hasn't cuddled up with the usual state lobbies like most GOP candidates tend to. (Not that this is a bad thing, but in his case... it's just apathy.) I suspect he'll be as do-nothing a governor as he was a Senator, but given we just had a zombie in office the last decade, that may not matter a bit.

I saw where Jefferson. Madsion, Montgomery, and Mobile all turned blue.
That will do it every time.
