re: Purple Alabama? No. But, Doug Jones got 48% (!) of the vote. The rigged House seat lost.

Jones ran it up in Jefferson. Which isn’t a surprise. He was obviously strong in the cities and killed it in the OTM suburbs as well. Just not enough to counteract the rural vote.

Hopefully we never have to hear from Doug jones again. Imagine losing to Tommy Tuberville twice.

You're probably right, but the data center issue - for example - is interesting. It's not popular with a lot of traditionally republican voters and Tuberville is all in on it. He's also, personally, not a well liked individual and hasn't cuddled up with the usual state lobbies like most GOP candidates tend to. (Not that this is a bad thing, but in his case... it's just apathy.) I suspect he'll be as do-nothing a governor as he was a Senator, but given we just had a zombie in office the last decade, that may not matter a bit
Everything you say here makes perfect sense, and I’d love to believe that can happen. But, I’ve seen this state allow so many lazy politicians to coast simply by having an R next to their name. I’ll believe something like the above when I see it.

If the retards that make up the GOP in Alabama hadn't fricked up and put Roy Moore in the ballot in 2017, no one today would know who this guy is.
I am one of those retards.
I wouldn't say that. Brooks and Strange...and GOP state party leaders...figuring out a way for just one to run and the other fall in line was what needed to happen.

That's closing in on Mike Shula territory.

dims will keep trotting Jones out until he's 80.
They'll probably eventually run Woodfin.

Baldwin county was red. It is a huge county with a constantly growing population.
No surprise to see Mobile blue and Baldwin County red. That's like predicting that the sun will rise in the morning.

The rigged House backfired bigly.
It also cost us seats elsewhere as Newsom directly targeted our districts in California as a result of Texas doing what they did at Trump’s behest.

It’s so bad and people hate Trump so much that no one gave AF about any conservative on the ballet.
Maybe Trump shouldn't be such a dumbass and people might like him?
