You really need to state the obvious. Very few of the people here under DACA are getting thei walking papers. The US is not going to uproot these people. We lack the political will to do this.

I’m more interested in moving forward with work permits, no more anchor babies, etc... and of course a wall and enforcement of laws on the books now.

Yes. I think some sort of path for them to gain citizenship is needed.

I honestly don't know what to do with their illegal parents. They should never get the ability to vote though.

The liberals are going to go all in for citizenship for every illegal alien, because, after all, they've worked hard to get them into the country. I'm okay with allowing them to stay and work, but never to vote.

If one extreme is citizenship for everyone, and the other extreme is to deport everyone, I think a fair compromise is:

1.) Pathway to citizenship for DACA kids.
2.) Deport all illegal alien felons
3.) Give illegal aliens who have jobs a legal standing to come out of the shadows
4.) Fix the visa system so that overstay penalties have some teeth

This is all contingent on the border wall, and the legal status should only be available for a limited time. If they don't apply for legal status and get caught, they get deported.

We should not fall for one of these nonsensical deals where the immigrant gets to be a citizen of they pay a fine and back taxes. We all know that very few of these people have the means to pay up.

Coupled with that, we should streamline the immigration process, making it simpler to get a temporary work visa, and green card. We should also make it easier to deport people.

Nor the continued ability to procreate.

There is no deal to be made and everyone is going to be happy with.

I am of the opinion the DACA recipients are still illegal aliens who need to be returned to their country. But we are going to have to give a little to get a little and this seems like the least intrusive counter offer.

With some HEAVY vetting.

Give them a pass with an allotted amount of time to learn English, take the test for immigration and then a financial obligation to pay what legal immigrants have to pay.

Put them at the back of the line and make them earn it. They have to apply for a work Visa, get no welfare. If they want to stay and work towards citizenship then fine. Otherwise deport them and BUILD THE WALL.

Also if they commit criminal activity, they are deported and cannot re-enter.

these people are not US citizens. If they want the privilege of full US citizenship go through the proper process.

Socialist democrats had their chance to save the DACA people, and they pissed it away, being the resist idiots that they are.

I’ve always been ok with let DACAs stay and provided legal status under 3 conditions:

1) Permission to stay is conditional, there is a fixed date certain by which an application may be submitted they are deported to nation of origin upon conviction of a felony (even as a juvenile);

2) They are NOT citizens, nor are they entitled to become citizens unless they leave the country and return through port of entry legally and begin the application process.

3) A wall / barrier is built. The date of substantial completion is the date that the application period begins, and it ends 30 days later.

We have no idea when these people came. We don’t need to have the promise of sneaking in your kid causing more people to sneak in.

Give them those legal protections, but add a 5% non refundable income tax to every single one of them who get that protection.

Use that money to build a wall and fund all other illegal immigration enforcement mechanisms.

I know it won't happen, but it's always nice to daydream.

I would actually like to see every illegal put on trains and shipped to the border where the Marines have constructed a 20 mile restricted zone in Mexico where they are offloaded and forced marched away from the US. A big tattoo on their forehead saying “illegal “ so if they sneak back in they can be spotted immediately would be a necessity.
But
Trading them non-voting resident status for full wall funding is acceptable, for now.
