Prostitution, theft and bestiality no longer a problem if you want to be an FBI agent

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) reportedly relaxed some of its automatic disqualifiers for employment as it works to replenish its ranks.

The Associated Press reports the FBI dropped an automatic hiring ban on applicants who have had sexual encounters with prostitutes. Instead, some applicants who engaged in the practice in the past will be considered in a “holistic manner.”

However, applicants who have solicited prostitution within the last 10 years, done so three or more times overall, or engaged in the conduct while in a position of public trust would still be automatically disqualified.

Meanwhile CBS News reported that a person who stole from an employer is not automatically disqualified if the incident occurred more than three years ago. And applicants who may have engaged in past acts of bestiality or animal cruelty may also be considered, if the incidents happened before the applicant turned 18.
