. I just wanted them to try Ivermectin because what harm could it do in a dead man.
It would do no harm but they would lose there protection from liability from the PREP act

I dont get the vents. It seems once people go on them, that is it. I rarely hear about people getting off of them, except in recent cases where they received Ivermectin.
Sounds like Ivermectin may be your last best hope. Hope you can at least try it. Good luck, and praying for your Dad.

I’m sorry about your Dad. Is the Doc positive Ivermectin won’t help him?

They get paid extra money for every covid patient on a vent.

I’m not going to lie - I would be royally pissed off if they put someone I knew on a vent even when they were fighting it
The vent essentially will kill you if you have COVID. They’ve known this shite for a YEAR

This is the thing I'm most pissed about. They vented him without calling anyone and asking. I told my aunt not to let them vent him without them calling and of course they vented him without anyones consent and said that he consented to it.
So now they have a vested interest in the only witness to consent dying.

It's partly palliative. Dying of pneumonia or acute respiratory distress is a terrible way to die. It's like drowning for 24 hours straight. It's painful, frightening and dehumanizing. Putting them on a vent when things go south means they are sedated and anesthetized so they don't suffer while the hail marry is tossed into the air. It sucks but that's the middle ground we've chosen between forcing them to suffer and consciously fight for their lives and putting them to sleep like an old German Shepard that can barely hop out of the car at the vets office.
To the OP - take some solace in knowing that many people never get the luxury of a peaceful, tranquil death.

I was being sarcastic unfortunately.

My dad got covid about 3 weeks ago and went to the hospital. They tested him at the hospital and sent him home - said he was doing fine. Three days later my dad was at his house and we sent neighbors to check on him because he stopped responding - lives alone and out of town from me - and his 02 levels were at 64 - dangerously low so we had him rushed to the ER. He was put on breathing treatments and steroids and was there for about 4 days when I get a call that they had put him on a vent - supposedly he had agreed to it but they didn't call anyone to ask - they just vented him. They prescribed him coagulates, remsidivir, and a sedative because he was fighting the vent. So he's basically been in induced coma for 2 weeks now, his lungs haven't recovered - 70pct vent and his kidneys started failing - dialysis and no one has been allowed to see him or visit him in the covid ward.
We called this morning and asked if we could give him Ivermectin because they are basically saying he's going to die and there is nothing left to be done. They told me (The Doctor) it was too late to prescribe Ivermectin and he's not going to make it and that we should get a DNR on him because soon his heart is going to give out.
So it all started with the initial visit to the hospital and he was told to go home. With everything we know about Covid19 and at risk individuals, particularly the elderly the first thing the hospital doc should’ve asked is whether the patient would be ok taking an infusion of monoclonal antibodies along with various other vitamins, steroids and other therapeutics that have shown some effectiveness in the early stages of Covid19. For many conservatives, our confidence in our government has been systematically destroyed over the past 15-20 years, now the medical profession is perilously close to losing the confidence of the American people too.

I know. I just thought that might be some info some haven't seen.

It’s mostly palliative. Patients are basically drowning by the time a decision to intubate is made these days.
