Then why even bother with having a Chief of Staff? Why even bother with having a press secretary. We all know Trump loves sparring with the press directly, and he does a good job of it.

But I'm also conflicted because she could just be super nervous as she gets used to the spotlight and maybe that's why she's so inarticulate. Her resume reeks of nepotism, though.

Yes Nick Sortor, let's ignore that she was Deputy Chief of Staff for NY City council members, Regional Political Director under Obama admin, and Deputy Press Secretary for Biden before getting the job.

Did she lie about being a gay black immigrant? I think the reason people are dunking on Zacharia is for her lying, or purposefully misleading, about being an attorney. Without that baggage her first press conference is barely even a story outside of diehard politicos.

Yup. Until she lied about the bar exam---"WHEN I went to China"---I thought her first day would be remembered for the Freudian slip in saying her "President" rather than her husband.
That was funny, but would have blown over. The lying about the bar exam and being an attorney will dog her the rest of her days as press secretary...however long that is.

You and Nick Sortor don't get it.
Not being an attorney is not the issue.
Pretending to be an attorney is the issue.
She is a DEI hire, just like KJP was a DEI hire.
KJP was hired because she's an immigrant lesbian black woman.
Katie Z was hired because she's a perky blond with gleaming white teeth.
