OK- I swear this is the last time I'm posting this meme.
I am kinda proud of it, tho.

It’s not appeasement if they make a purely symbolic attack. Think about this.
They killed a contractor. We bombed 5 sites. They burn the embassy. We kill their general.
Then their response is to bomb a small Iraqi base with a small US presence with no casualties, bypassing larger bases with a LOT more US troops???
If this holds, it was designed to de-escalate
It would be a disaster for foreign relations. We deal with a lot of potentially hostile groups by projecting force, and they don't want any of it. If Iran 'calls our bluff', then North Korea might also think it can.

Agreed. If it were up to me would leave the ME. But we are there now and this is a High Stakes chess game and we are in it.

Trump needs to hit Iran like they have never been hit before...

The image of the attack tweeted by Iran's Fars News Agency is actually a picture they gave to news agencies in 2017 when Iran struck ISIL targets in Syria. (See related Guardian story from the 2017 strike:

This is really the perfect pretext to enter Iranian airspace and reset their nuclear program to zero to the extent that it can be done with air power.

I agree. After we hit all 52 targets. Take out the Ayatollah, his sons, daughters, wives, cousins(1st, second, and 3rd) uncles, nephews and nieces, aunts, sisters, brothers, fathers, goat fathers, goats 1,2,and 3, 3rd-grade teacher, his Islamic priest, and any close neighbors.
Only then can you guarantee no retaliation later.

Massive cyber attacks would be sufficient. No reason to overreact. Iran got the message and are trying to save face. Present them as a weak bully

Some of y'all just jizzing all over yourselves tonight at the thought of a war is pretty insane to witness.
Is it really a war though if you’re just decimating their country to ashes?

All three officials and Vice President Pence just left the White House. The White House now says Trump will NOT address the nation tonight.
Strategically it would also make sense to relocate Pence in the event that something happens to Trump.

If he did indeed say that it doesn't sound like de-escalation to me. No sane world leader would sit back and do nothing after a missile strike from an enemy country when his opposite number is saying it isn't over.
I don't care if there were 0 American casualties, if they are threatening to hit us again in the immediate future, we have to strike them back before they can launch another attack.

I like a lot of what he says, but I dont understand why everyone seems to think we either need to just GTFO or we're going to be in a full blown war. Retaliating with some missile strikes on strategic military and nuclear program sites is not the same as getting into a full blown war.
In fact, we can strike Iran and STILL work on reducing our military force down to 0 over the next 6 months without looking like we were intimidated into leaving... at least it seems that way to me; I dont understand this thinking of a false dichotomy.
