This Bipartisan Infrastructure Law will for the first time ever create a true national network of charging stations for electric vehicles. That means you can charge up and drive across the country — and it’ll create thousands of jobs for electrical workers.

This is just dumb and the millennials and younger will eat it up. Does their patron Saint Greta approve or is this just more blah blah blah?

PrezPotatoHead has no concept of what it’s like to take a multi-state road-trip.

I can drive from my home to Orlando, FL (700 miles) in 11 hours with one 10 minute stop for fuel. How long would that same trip take stopping to recharge an electric car?

I picture these government charging stations broke, filthy and poorly maintained. Let service stations do it and charge the fee like gas. Just like their gas pumps they have an incentive to keep things clean and functioning or they lose $$.

The harder they push for EV (and vaccines) makes me dig my feet in harder.

I dont want either. I will probably be the last person in the US driving a gas or diesel truck.

I have literally ZERO desire to drive an electric truck. Zero.

Charging a Tesla at home may increase your electric bill by around $20 to $50 every month.

So far less than a single tank of gas, and you can drive on that for an entire month?

This is a lie. Adding charging stations everywhere means you can charge up, drive a short distance, then charge up again for hours , then drive a short distance, then charge up again for hours , rinse and repeat.

How about wait until electric vehicles have a 600 mile minimum range with AWD. I'm not waiting around 6x the amount for a vehicle with less range than the gas vehicle equivalent.

My biggest issue is that gasoline give you freedom and harder to track. They (the gov) can track everything you do with electricity. Anyone with a brain knows this is a control mechanism and has nothing to do with climate change.

Joe did it every day, albeit by Amtrac that we all subsidized.

He lived in Delaware (state 1) he 'drove' through Maryland (state 2) and he left his vehicle in so-called state 3, the District of Columbia.
Then that evening, he did the same multistate trip home.

He didn't even drive himself.

You can charge up and drive about 300 miles before needing to find the next charging station. Another mistruth from the senile child sniffer.

Why is the federal government involved in this, at all? Did the federal government build our 'network' of gas stations?

Not to mention that you then have to wait half an hour while the thing charges.

Who will pay for the guard needed to keep the meth heads from cutting off all the charging cords and selling them for scrap metal, this has happened already. Charging cables from the cars themselves are also being stolen.

“December 22, 2020 at 4:40 PM
Lots of charging cables from electric cars have been stolen recently. Especially the Tesla Model 3 is a popular victim, because when it is cold the theft protection does not always work. The police advise to park the car preventively on the cable while charging.”
