Do we have the plants to produce the power? I honestly don’t know but this should never happen. Build plants and produce our own power.
Yeah it happens. I know New York signed a deal with Canada a few years ago where they would buy some of Canada's hydro power (because, you see, New York cannot survive on solar and wind as they believed).

Oh no. The power companies will have to supply those customers with power produced in the USA. The horror!
I live in NY and the power companies have been preparing for this for weeks. It’s an empty threat

LOL, Canada has a smaller military than the Florida National Guard.

There are 5 branches in all of Canada.
So as I said, they have a presence there but its extremely limited and certainly not on par with other major global players.

I searched Capital One locations on google maps (from the list posted in this thread) and the only thing that popped up was an office building in Ontario. It appears the retail bank in that location is TD bank.
No retail locations listed here.

It’s like this with most things.
They decided decades ago they didn’t want to be swamped by our culture and economic power so they just put up a defacto wall to limit what we could do there from TV to banking to retail.

One location popped up for Chase. An office building in Toronto. Once again no retail banking locations I can find.

Three blue states... makes no sense
I think Governor Trudeau is actually being smart about what tariffs he's applying. Make the red states pay the price for their vote. While I think retaliatory tariffs are a stupid response (the focus should go to fix what caused the tariffs in the first place), this shows a certain level of sophistication. Though I wonder why the argument that tariffs are a "tax" on your own people (like the left is screaming) applies to one side but not the other? If it is a universal "tax" why would the other country do the same top their people?
When did it become acceptable for a governor to call the President by just his first name? Justin needs to put some respect on President Trump's name. He and his lefties need to be deported to our 52nd state in the North Atlantic.

New York cannot survive on solar and wind as they believed
As of this afternoon only 6.3% of their generation was wind.
And they won’t split out solar from “other renewables” at 2.8% of NY total generation. And that “other renewables” includes battery storage, landfill gas, and firewood. The solar must be embarrassingly small.

We are mankind, who survived millennia without power or refrigeration, through countless wars and colonizations, ice ages, droughts, famine, pestilence and many other natural hells. Yet now, we have created our own biome of total dependency on others.
Remember That was just a poster who said folks would die. I doubt that would happen. Some hapless people might die, but that type died in the idyllic times you described. In fact, back then, it was the strong who survived.

It's pretty amazing seeing how dependent and entitled the rest of the world is where leaching off the US is. Makes you wonder what this country would look like today if we truly were America First the last 20-30 years.

Let’s first let them take New England, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Washington state, and then we can kick their asses.
As Nancy Pelosi has the meltdown of the century, the loss of all but guaranteed Senate seats would have the D's in D.C. pooping all over themselves. And the Somali population of Minnesota would be chartering flights back home.

And the canadian generators just lost millions of paying Customers for their energy.
Not to mention the jobs lost to operate and maintain that system.
